    That's just too cool. I'm not even sure how it works, so it seems a little magical, lol. But this is my favorite part of the recipe:

    One year I my birthday party a few weeks after my birthday. Our Xmas tree was up and my friends came over for a slumber party. We made these cookies, and as they were baking carolers happened to come by the house. We invited them and we sang carols with them and ate cookies and had hot cocoa. Pretty magical, actually.

    That was also the Xmas that my mom stayed up all night knitting an elf for my brother. He told her that night that that is what he wanted from Santa.

    I always talk about how crazy my mom was but she did give me some good memories.

    Anyway, the cookies are tasty. ;-)
