I've not stayed in that stateroom, but stayed in a room towards the stern on the starboard (right) side of Disney's sister ship the Dream. I've seen the Fantasy deck plan and 10660 has a somewhat larger than normal verandah. The verandah has a solid metal whitewall rather than Plexiglas, but I don't see that as a major disadvantage. We had a stateroom once with that type of wall, and because it is only about 4' tall you can easily see over it, though your view will be somewhat obstructed while sitting down. While the aft elevators are not as convenient as the mid-ship elevators, they are also much less busy which can be a real advantage at peak times. The elevators are convenient to both the adult entertainment district and the Royal Palace, Palo and Remy dining rooms. I enjoy being on deck 10, that is where we are booked this year. You are only one deck below the main entertainment/pool deck. You also get almost no engine noise or vibration like you can on the lower decks. Have fun!

Were doing the park for a week, and then a cruise. So this is going to be a dream come true and our first time on the Fantasy. Yahoo!!!

I know on previous visits we've seen people get on those buses from the resorts and of course off. This is what we want to do. I don't want to drive to the Port and we are not flying in, we are driving in. I am waiting for my travel agent to get back to me about it. But if you know the procedure, I'd love to hear about it??

Not that I'll need that much. What am I saying? I am a woman and I love to shop!! LOL

If you did not book through them I assume you would call the cruise line and tell them what you want. Through DVC, transfers can be arranged up until three days before sailing. Yes, they will pick you up at your Disney resort.

The facilities on the Fantasy will be gorgeous, and the service is absolutely outstanding.

Also, this will be our 3rd cruise. Our first one was in 2005 on the Magic to Mexico from Los Angeles, the next one just last Sept. once again on the Magic from Galveston. We were on the very first trip out of Texas and I won this trip. It was awesome! Now I want to go all the time. ha..ha.. This will be our 3rd cruise obviously but first on the Fantasy. This ship looks beautiful and I know this vacation will be one for the record books. Oh, we've stated at the Riverside before too and enjoyed it. We decided to try somethign new that's why we chose the French Quarter. Besides that, we like the idea of the boat to "Downtown Disney".

Makes for a VERY economical vacation... a real plus when you are retired. My DVC purchase has been paid for, so my only current expense is the annual dues for maintenance.

But that leaves the question - what happens to your car while you're on the cruise? Resort parking is ostensibly only for the duration of your stay at the resort. Perhaps the best thing to do is to just leave the resort parking permit on your dashboard. I doubt that unless a car looks abandoned, that they go through each parking lot and look closely at the expiration date of each permit on any regular basis.
