Don't know if it's true or not, but given that the Stitch Movie was tropically themed and had tropical music, if it is true I'm hoping for a better show than the very offensive under new management show that has been in Tiki. Maybe I will get to enjoy the Tiki Room again, as I'll NEVER step foot inside the under new management show again. I'd rather see it go more back to the original concept and show, but turned into an interactive restaurant show with interaction between the birds and the guests (which I believe was the original concept) this leaves me hopeful that it could at least be better and more on theme than whats been there the past few years!

Sigh, not that I was anticipating Stitch in the Tiki Room, I was anticipating a change, ANY kind of change to the under new management show. They took my all time favorite, most beloved Disney attraction and made it into an insulting, offensive, show that I HATE! Most any change has got to be an improvement!!! I do however prefer the idea of returning the basic original show, turning it into a restaurant, and adding some character/guest interaction. That could be wonderful, plus another source of revenue for Disney with the added food service.

'Under New Management' came across as some sort of show you might see internally -- as a 'roast' of the original show or something. Sort of like the original comedy show at Pleasure Island's 'Comedy Warehouse.' It was a fantastic spoof of Walt Disney World, including a song parody 'Super conscientious, friendly, Disney World employees' sung to the tune of 'Supercalifragelisticexpialidocious. Hilarious, yes. Appropriate for the guests -- eh, that was debatable. Anyway, aside from all that, it's great to see another attraction getting 'characterized.'

I sat there with my mouth hanging open, it's really that bad. Zazu and Iago are so jarringly out of proportion and tone of the original, more realistic tiki birds it's ridiculous. That said, I don't know that adding more spitting characters (what's with the spitting at WDW? Camels, Stitch, enough already) is the way to go. I'm sure there's a way to use the original Tiki Birds and create a new show that captures some of the charm and warmth of the original. If not, just let it rest in peace and come up with something different in that space.

Can you imagine if Walt Disney had settled for production values only in the original Tiki Room. It was a technological marvel for it's time. Walt Disney didn't need to spend so much time and effort to invent new characters, a themed environment, original songs -- but he did. He didn't just create and attraction about birds that had already had a presence in his animated films (and there were already plenty of those). He created an original attraction and original narrative to go along with all the bells and whistles. This reminds me of how you get all the blockbuster movies for the summer that are absolutely abysmal in terms of their storytelling, but people flock to them just to see the special effects and explosions. I'd had to see DL turn into one big summer popcorn movie -- lots of explosions, but hollow at the core.
