Studio Ghibli films on TCM tonight (01/19)

    Tonight Turner Classic Movies' salute to Miyazaki continues with the first opportunity for most to see the new english dubs of "My Neighbor Totoro" and "Whisper of the Heart" as well as an airing of "Porco Rosso". Following the english language dubbed versions will be japanese with english subtitled versions. Here's the schedule (all times PST, please adjust for your time zone):

    05:00pm: My Neighbor Totoro (1988 - English-language version)
    06:30pm: Porco Rosso (1992 - English-language version)
    08:15pm: Whisper of the Heart (1995 - English-language version)
    10:15pm: My Neighbor Totoro (1988 - Japanese-language version)
    11:45pm: Porco Rosso (1992 - Japanese-language version)
    01:30am: Whisper of the Heart (1995 - Japanese-language version)

I love the little dust bunnies and house spirits.. you see them again in "Spirited Away" which goes into a lot more detail about spirits or guardians of places.. Totoro & Kiki's Delivery Service were the first films of Studio Ghibli I ever seen and am now a big fan. Howl's Moving Castle which came out last year was fantastic too..

    I'm looking forward to seeing "Whisper of the Heart" as it's the precursor of "The Cat Returns" which I liked a lot as well (and no I don't like all the films.. not a big fan of Princess Mononoke although it's well done).

    Definitely want to buy the DVD.
