New 'Survivor' Divides Groups by Race
    By Associated Press

LOS ANGELES - Get ready for a segregated "Survivor." Race will matter on the upcoming season of the CBS show as contestants will be divided into four tribes by ethnicity. That means blacks, whites, Latinos and Asians in separate groups.

The announcement was made on CBS' Early Show. Host Jeff Probst says the idea "actually came from the criticism that 'Survivor' was not ethnically diverse enough." He says the twist fits in perfectly with what "Survivor" does, saying the show is "a social experiment. And this is adding another layer to that experiment." Probst says contestants had mixed reactions to the racial divisions.

This time the new Survivors are stranded on the Cook Islands in the South Pacific. The castaways include a police officer, a heavy metal guitarist, an attorney and a nail salon manager. The new season of Survivor debuts September 14th.

In any case, seems like the same show as always so far. That's not a bad thing.

    That's what I'm guessing too.

You know I've heard people talk how this is reprehensible and it doesn't reflect society today. Well I've got a news flash. Go to any large city in the U.S. and there's area where one group is the predominant group. To me this is much ado about nothing.

It's not it's just a way for the show to get attention. Truth be told I'm not going to watch. My interest in the show has wained considerably the last few go rounds. Thursday's are now the Office and Earl.

Although I think much of that falls away as the generations become more American and less Asian culturally.

    OK I'm done rambling.

I personally think Stephanie made the right decision, not 'cause she stuck with the girls, but because Seku (sp) wasn't a good leader but insisted on being in charge. They'll be stronger with him gone and I think Steph should align with Nate for the longer haul.

It doesn't look like we'll get one this season, but I'd love to see a new "Rupert" or "Cerie". People like them make the show so much more fun to watch.

I'm laughing a bit because it's always hard to find the characters or stand outs when the show first begins but when they get down to around 8 everyone on here is a bit more fiesty about their choices.

Sadly no one is showing that much personality yet. Hopefully someone at Bobby Jon level will start to appear. We'll see, some seasons are better than others.

And jnemo, I think the women should have stepped up and gone with the men to make the decision. Just my 2 cents, but the men wouldn't have been able to exlude the women if the women hadn't let them. Then again, the women did come out on top in the vote that mattered.

Cao Boi, may be the one to look out for, but I had similar thoughts about Bruce last season and he got on my nerves pretty quickly.
That "bad wind" deal WAS pretty funny, especially after he left a mark on pretty boy Brad's face, lol.
