I quietly packed while the kiddo got a little more sleep. Soon he was up and we loaded everything up into the car and got some of the junk moved around so we could fit Dani and Brian in. We turned in our keys and very sadly left Hojo's. We made quick stop for gas and we were at Seal Beach pretty quickly. Jake LOVED the water last year. This year, he wasn't such a fan. He liked walking the Pier but was scared to go down to the sand. I eventually coaxed him down there and got a few pictures and got his little toes in the sand and my big toes in the water. Soon it was time to say goodbye to Danielle and Brian, they were heading back to Arizona. We dropped them at their car then we went in search of food. Jake and I had a quick lunch at Burger King where we had to pay a stinkin' quarter to use their bathrooms! We just got on the freeway when I heard a little voice say "I poop in my pull up!" Of course, that meant we had to pull off the freeway again to change his nastly little pants. We just got back on the freeway when I accidentally ended up on the 60 West instead of the 60 East. Which meant we had to get off the freeway again to fix it. We were finally going again when he started having a fit about something. And his tears got in his owie again, requiring a kiss. I knew that I would not be able to concentrate on driving with all the noise so we pulled over again. I gave kisses, got him to stop crying, started getting into the front seat when.... "Potty mama!" So we ran into Del Taco, used the potty and got a strawberry lemonade. Thankfully he fell asleep not long after that. The trip home was rather uneventful, though we did hit some rain around Stateline and he pooped again right as we got into Vegas. I let Daddy clean that up though! Overall, it was a wonderful trip! Yes, it was way different than past trips but there will be other trips where I will get to go on what I want and go at my pace. We made some pretty incredible memories and, a week later, he's still talking about the trip constantly!
