I would contact Marriott, Hyatt, Hojo's, and the Best Westerns to see what kind of rates they can get you and then run the ones you like by us here. We've all stayed in various places near Disneyland so we can give our opinions.

Also the Candy Cane gets high reviews, so call them too!

Sorry, didn't answer your question. Candy Cane Inn is great as is HoJos but both are little pricier than the other hotels/motels accross from DL.

Also, I've stayed at Park Place Inn with a HS band there. They were great, too.

Now paintball teams..... Aye yi yi! I'll never coordinate their travel again!

Thanks for all the hotel advice. I would like to be close. I like the suites cuz we can fit six kids in a room. I have never stayed at the Candy Cane, but have heard the rooms are on the smaller side. Would a room be big enough for 4 high schoolers plus instruments?

    Thanks SO much everyone!

The kids were fairly well behaved, but they did have one annoying habit: they'd camp out in the hallway to socialize. It got so cowded at times that you would have to step over them. Fortunately they were at DLR until very late and only socialized for about an hour. Other than that they were fine.

On another trip we stayed at the Clarion (I might be spelling that wrong, its across the street from the Hilton). This hotel was booked by the festival planners for the band event. It was a more expensive, there were fridges but no microwaves. there was a resturaunt attatched to the lobby, but it was more expensive than some of the kids were wanting to pay. Both had a pool, it was much bigger at Clarion.

In our experience, I would definatly go back to the Castle Inn. It was cost effective and for the time we spent their we didnt need anything fancy.
