Another big step in Disney's attempt to bring the characters "to life", Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy all now have moving mouths and blinking eyes. The best part is the overall look of the character when "stationary" is very, very close to how the characters have looked for quite some time. Imo, Donald is the best realized of the characters in this format, but for all 4, the end result is quite stunning and will surely attract more folks to stop and take a look at this already fun show.

I don't have any personal photos or videos, but one can be found here at google video from a poster at wdwmagic: <a href="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9034133974768533822&hl=en" target="_blank">http://video.google.com/videop

Of note, Mr. Hook and Captain Smee did not receive new articulated faces for the show. Rather, as part of the overhaul of the characters from what I've heard, they are now true "face" characters with prosthetics/make-up. I have no idea whether or not this look will be carried out to the meet and greets though.

They did an especially good job with the blinking for Minnie, IMO, and it seems to be synched up with the choreography really well. There are still some things that look a little funny, but I feel like it is overall a huge feat to be able to do that with the characters, especially if this works on a regular basis (I really hope so, since it seems to add so much to the show).

I would hope that the technology involved is very reliable over time. If any one of the character's movements aren't working properly it would be an obvious show thing.

I'm wondering if 100% of all the mouth and eye movements are prerecorded and occur at exactly the same times in each show. Right down to the eyeblinks happening the same way every time?

A couple of years ago DLP had a Pan show using Skull Rock and the galleon. Both Smee and Hook were human performers with prosthetics.
