Monday, June 19th was finally here and my DD Tricia, DGS Andre and Tricia's friend Loni and I headed to the airport at 8:30am. Tricia told Andre he would have to "practice" standing in line for Disney rides at the airport. Lines were short, good thing too. Half of my dancers (we were going down to perform with "Magic Music Days") and their parents were on the same flight and half were on other flights or had already driven down a day or two before. We were all excited a in a "Disney" frame of mind and ready for great fun!

Our shuttle was just a few minutes late and then we were off to our motel, the Candy Cane Inn. Check in was a breeze and soon we were all off in small groups to explore the parks.

Andre was so excited, Loni too, her first visit to any Disney park. She and Tricia have both worked at the Disney store and are major Tinkerbell fans. andre said he wanted to ride Star Tours first (he calls it Star Wars). Andre is almost five and after making friends with the cast member at the entrance couldn't wait to ride. LOVED it. Again, again he said but we convinced him that since we hadn't had lunch and it was almost 5:00 we should get something to eat. We went to one of my favorite places to have a nice meal in the park, Plaza Inn. We got two chicken dinner for the three of us girls to share and Andre got his own pasta kids meal. Well fed we were on our way.

Next Buzz Lightyear was on Andre's must do list so we did that, not to bad of a line. I was surprised. We saw Sleeping Beauuty and the Prince and got autographs and a picture and then on too Matterhorn for them and I headed over to the Carnation Plaza stage to meet my dancers and their parents for a quick meeting. We wanted the dancers to have a chance to see the stage before they performed, it has two levels w/stairs.

I met back up with my group and rode Jungle Cruise and Small World. We split up with Tricia and Andre going into Fantasyland for Dumbo and a few other rides and then back to the motel, he was getting pretty tired. Loni and I took off to Thunder Mountain (way, way rougher than I remembered) maybe because we were in the last car, I don't know. When fireworks were about ready to start she and I went to Indy, the line was short, good time to go I think. When we came out the line was way long.

We decided to head over to Blue Ribbon Bakery and bring goodies back to the room to share. We got onto the exclusive Candy Cane Inn shuttle, what a blessing that was. Our room was a deluxe to accomadate the rollaway so it was clear back at the end, right next to the maintenance room. Those guys were great, nice to have them close and they were very taken with andre, who was being "Mr. Personality" most of this trip, except for a few assorted melt downs when it was pretty hot at the parks.

Will continue the trip report next time I'm at work.
