I watched the show from the shores of the Polynesian Resort. The show was due to start at 9pm but after a brief delay, the show started at 9:04pm. It lasted aproximately 10 mins. Unlike previous years... this time the Electrical Water Pageant barges were parked in front of the Polynesian Beach and were instrumental in piping the music from the show and presented the lightup montage of american flags and stars normally seen during the finale of the regular electrical pageant show. These electric flags and stars were added to the bardges back in 1976 for the Bicentennial Celebration, which to me was the biggest fireworks show ever presented at WDW. EVER. Even bigger than that big show they had a few years ago from the Pyro Association at the site of the never built Mediterranean Resort. Anyways... unlike previous years.. those of us at the Poly Beach were able to enjoy the music that played to the show. Tinkerbell opened the show with a flyover from Cinderella Castle, then to the sounds of patriotic music, a dual presentation of fireworks started from behind the MK and over the center of the Seven Seas Lagoon. The 2nd act was a salute to the armed forces.. This is where the show went huge! In a fantastic display of showmanship, the perimeter fireworks joined the show with red, gold and blue bulbs, while the center skies and over the MK was filled with star-shaped pyro. Very pretty and emotional, and it brought the crowd on the beach to huge applause when it ended. More patriotic music followed as the perimeter skies around the MK exploded in multitudes of colors, and the show then ended with a stirring "Star Spangle Banner" explosive salute that filled the sky in colors. All in all, it was a fabulous show that didn't disappoint. I was able to capture some images with my cell phone and are here below for you to see (not so great quality, sorry). The show goes off again tomorrow. CATCH IT if you can. Happy 4th of July everyone!!

I have never seen the night time turn to daytime like that EVER before or since at WDW. It was a night to remember... and then, we all cried tears of joy when out of the darkness over the Seven Seas lagoon... a firework Tencennial logo lit up over the front of the MK with cascading fire sparkles. AWESOME!!! I am telling you!!! Oh the memories of WDW's past.

I'm going to have to set up there sometime to check out that vantage point. The Contemporary roof is far enough back from the center of things to give a bigger picture of things. But it looks like the Poly has the advantage of being set even further back. I wish there was a way to get up higher at the Poly.
