I'm sure they're all good Christians too.

The woman was at a town hall talking about how her 24 year old daughter and her granddaughter didn't have health insurance and died.

These people are soulless and evil.

Somebody has to call you two out on your bunk. Please tell us where in the video or article it says these blowhards and political vocalists are Christians or motivated by Christianity? I called out some Mate named davewasbaloo about this baseless Christian attacking and now I call you two out.

You fellas are giving us 'non believers' or science people a very bad name. Let's knock off the attacks unless you have proof in the specific stories.

Call these people rude but layoff the faith attacks, please.

I don't want them attacking my lack of faith so we shouldn't get on their cases either.

It's not an attack on faith. It's an attack on the extreme right-wing hijacking of faith. I have numerous friends who are Democrats and committed, church-going Christians.

The comments were a note on the irony that these people almost certainly consider themselves Christians (like X said, it's not an unreasonable assumption) yet they do not behave remotely like Christians. In a way, our comments could be seen as a defense of Christianity. Our sarcasm makes it clear they're anything but Christian.

You're getting fired up about nothing.

You two are convicting without a fair trial. Let me take a wild guess: you two have an issue with holding people down in Cuba without a fair trial(I don't like it at all either) even though "it's not an unreasonable assumption" to believe that most are terrorists. Just be fair guys(or gals) and own up that you have no proof and that we shouldn't convict around here without proof. As a liberal I am starting feel embarrassed if your positions are the going rate.

That's like saying assuming people watch Fox news when they hold certain, let's say "familiar" political opinions isn't a given and you have to "prove it".

I've seen interview after interview after interview with right wingers who spout their talking points and at the end, when asked "where do you get your news from?" the answer is inevitably "Fox news".

Might that assumption prove wrong once in a blue moon? Perhaps (like in Sarah Palin's case where we learn she's more partial to Newsmax). But so what?

The general assumption is quite sound.

It wasn't an attack. You can keep saying it was all you want, but it wasn't an attack on Christianity.

    That's not correct.

There's a lot of evidence out there than a large number of them were simply scooped up for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It would be like slaves fighting for the rights of plantation owners.

And these people don't listen to anyone outside of Fox News, talk radio, and their own narrow social groups. Everyone else, every other view point, every other idea is disregarded and derided. How can we, as a country, do anything about the problems we face if we can't even have a conversation with each other? Liberals are demonized by conservatives but at least liberals are willing to debate ideas.

This country is dividing very rapidly and the gulf between both sides is increasing. A house divided against itself can not stand.

Do you honestly think that any of those heckling fools would admit to being anything but Christian?
That crowd represented classic middle American conservatives, and assuming them to be overwhelmingly Christian is perfectly reasonable, even logical.
As has been said, the religious connotations are more about the most ungodlike behaviour of these venom spewing hypocrites.
