It is my favorite place in the world and I was wondering if the good people on this website would tell me in detail of the changes since1998 and perhaps a little of bit of their favorite things , be it attractions, music, people, holidays, food, shopping or whatever. I want to see the park through the eyes of the people who love it as much as I do. Thank you in advance for anyone who replies. It really means a lot!

Oh yeah have to slow down for the security checkpoint. Frantically trying to figure out which line is the shortest and which is the fastest. Out of my way everybody It is my Disney Day.
When I finally enter thru the turnstiles I usually enter to the left and exit on the other side. I want to hurry to the rope drop but I also want to linger and enjoy the view down MainStreet to see the Castle and to know Magic still exists.

You have inspired me to get my act together and create a photo page of my Disney Postcard collection to share with family and friends since it is too heavy to carry on the airplane when I visit my family in Southern California.
I hope you have lots of Disney memories.

My day starts off with getting to Disneyland early and usually getting a muffin at the bakery and a coffee or flavored coffee at the market house. We always head over to Space mountain which we ride and get fast passes for. After Space we head on over to the Matterhorn, maybe buzzlightyear and Autopia if there is a minimal wait. Once we are able to get a fastpass we usually choose Indy or Splash mountain. If the day is hot we usually go with Splash. We ride Pirates and maybe the Mansion, we sometimes like to save the Mansion for the evening. Usually we always go over to the other park for a few hours to ride Tower of terror, Screamin over California, Toy story and Grizzly river run. In the Evening is usually when we ride the Haunted Mansion, big thunder and the best time to tackle Fantasyland. On out trip we usually visit Toon Town maybe once. Our favorite restaurant is the Blue Bayou which i love the filet and petite lobster tail. We always go to Cafe Orleans and always order the french onion soup, pomme frites and a side salad with toasted pecans, goat cheese and a home made raspberry dressing. We always get fried chicken from the plaza and have once lunch at the Red wagon for their super fatty corn dogs LOL. We like Rancho de zocalo, i know thats either the wrong name or spelling. Anyways, they have pretty good Mexican food. I love getting the gumbo in a bread bowl! And at Disney California Adventure they have wonderful Salad bread bowls too. Hungry bear has pretty good food with giant onion rings and Village Haus has really good flat bread pizza. We always have one special breakfast at the Carnation Cafe usually on our last day of the trip. I order the cinnamon bun french toast every time. I can go on and on about the food, i wish i were there right now!

Downtown Disney would be new for you too! They have some pretty good restaurants and some decent shops. I always shop at the World of Disney store which is much bigger and better than the emporium inside Disneyland.

Let me try and think of things that have changed since 1998. 1998 was the last trip i made with a returning trip in 08, so i kind of remember some changes. I think Captain E.O was there and it has now returned LOL. The people mover is gone, the Submarines have changed to finding Nemo, Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters has been added in tomorrowland, there is sleeping beauty walk through in the castle, Tom sawyer island is now called Pirates layer with a few changes, Country bear Jamboree is gone :( its replacement is Winnie the pooh,The tree house is now Tarzan's tree house, Pirates of the Caribbean now has Jack sparrow added in the ride, Small world has a few Disney characters added, Haunted Mansion has had some upgrades and basically from September until January they do a holiday overlay of the nightmare before Christmas. I am sure there has been many more changes and i will list more when i can think of them.

I hope you get to come back to DL soon! I think it would be exciting for you to see a whole new park and all the changes.

I squeeze in a minimal amount of time for meals, but when I do eat there, I eat a lot. Occasionally I get a relaxed visit there when it isn't so crowded, but mostly it's standing in line and going on the rides for me. Then after I've had my fill around midnight, I head home, get back around 2, and sleep until 10 the next day.

    WORTH IT!!!!

There's usually a lot of room between people, so I sneak my way up close to the rope. I used to head right for Fantasyland, but now with the new Star Tours I head right there first, riding right away and then getting a FastPass for later. Then it's through Fantasyland for all of the dark rides that don't have too long a line. By then it's time for ToonTown to open, and a quick once around Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin. Then I just kinda work my way back down through Tomorrowland, back through the hub and over to Frontierland for a late breakfast at the Riverbelle Terrace.

After breakfast I head up to Splash if the line isn't too long, back down to the Haunted Mansion and Pirates, and over to Big Thunder Mountain. I then work my way out through Adventureland, doing the single rider on Indy and maybe the Jungle Cruise if there's no big line. By now I'm sleepy, so it's back to my hotel for a well deserved nap.

The evening will usually find me at the Uva Bar in Downtown Disney, where they know how to make an excellent vodka martini! Once properly lubed it's back into DL for the show in the small world area (The Magic, The Memories, and You), fireworks in the central hub, and over to Frontierland to cap the night with a showing of Fantasmic!

Sounds like a great day, doesn't it? Can't wait to do it again!!!

DH and I drive down and are there for park opening. We grab FPs for Star Tours and go on Star Tours. Then we grab FPs for Space Mountain and go on Space Mountain. We head over to the Matterhorn and go once or twice. We head across the park and ride BTMR. One person goes and grabs Splash FPs. We ride POTC and HM and have lunch. I like to eat at the restaurant with the musicians. We go on Splash. We go on Jungle Cruise. We shop around a little, and may go on IASW or BTMR again. Probably we'd head over to DCA for Screamin and TSMM or Soarin and Little Mermaid. We'd grab WoC passes. We eat dinner. We watch fireworks. We go on Buzz and Star Tours and Space again. We go see WoC.

DL is a very special, magical place for me. I love the atmosphere and love the music. Space Mountain is my favorite attraction, Splash is my husband's. Matterhorn, BTMR, POTC, and HM are also musts for us.

Recently my son and I discussed the 24hour Leap Year Strategy...if we were going. I am not planning to go but think it would be so much fun. I would want to enter down Main Street and then be really old school starting at Adventureland and then Frontierland ending with Tomorrowland. I guess some lucky people will see the sun set and then rise unless it is rainy or foggy. I think a person on a blog is planning to go on every single attraction during their 24 hour day. i hope they are successful and document it to share.
It is nice visiting with everybody in this post especially you DoomBuggydriver.

Imagine my hubby and I (pre-child), walking from park to park, all day, using our FPs! *LOL* We were in better shape, that's for sure.
Mickeymouseclub - I've seen some interesting discussions on that topic outside of LP. I can't go, but I think it's a good thing. The only time I've been in DL to see the sunrise, I felt like I'd been hit by a truck! Graduation and Grad Night wiped me out!

I think many people will do all the attractions on Leap Day. I don't think it'd be difficult.
