Sometimes I like to go for a walk in the rain and splash in the puddles =) 2. Do to reward yourself when you complete a difficult task? Not all the time, but if it is a big enough task I have been known to. After a particularly challenging semester of university for example I ran away to DL the next day =) 3. Call a perfect evening with your significant other or family? I really like big family get togethers just because we don't have them very often. My mum is having a big family bbq tonight in fact, I am really looking forward to it =) 4. Do with books you have already read? If it is a book I enjoyed I will most likely keep it. If not, I will pass it on to someone I know who might enjoy it more or give it to a used book store or thrift store. I often share books I have read, but still intend to keep. 5. Cut out from newspapers? Not much anymore. When I was small if there happened to be an article in the local paper that mentioned me or someone I knew my mum would cut it out and put it in my baby book. I think her favourite cut out was a picture of me greeting and giving flowers to Princess Diana. But I haven't had a reason recently to cut anything out. 6. Think about camping? I love it ! Camping is one of my favourite summer activities. Unfortunately we just haven't got that far this summer as we planned a Disney trip and time and recourses went toward that. We still might go in Sept. though, and there is lots of opportunity for Brownie Camps =)

A night of board games with the larger family, with my signifigent other, curled up and reading/staring at a screen. (we're so boring!) 4. Do with books you have already read? Return them to the Library! 5. Cut out from newspapers?--Nothing 6. Think about camping?--The idea of it sound wonderful. The actuallity is lots of work!!

Do to reward yourself when you complete a difficult task? I actually can't think of ever doing something specific or intended. 3. Call a perfect evening with your significant other or family? Talk, talk, talk; just sit around the kitchen table and engage in multiple topics over the course of an evening. I like to cook for my family and friends while we do this and then finish off with a good pot of coffee and dessert in the wee hours of the morning. 4. Do with books you have already read? If the book really spoke to me, I keep. If not, I donate to our local library or goodwill. 5. Cut out from newspapers? I cut articles, cartoons and pictures that touch me in some way and paste into my journal - along with my thoughts. 6. Think about camping? I love camping but like Mrs Elder P - it's a lot of work for the person getting it altogether so it doesn't happen as much as I'd like.

Do with books you have already read? Return them to the used book store or put them on my book club's sharing list for others. 5. Cut out from newspapers? I don't do this anymore. Too much clutter. 6. Think about camping? If God wanted us to camp he wouldn't have created motels.
Originally Posted By chickendumpling 1. Like to do on a rainy Saturday or other day off? Well, I live in the Northwest so if I'd treated *every* rainy Saturday as special, I'd live a pretty special life. On my days off I love nothing more than spending time with my family. I don't even care what we're doing as long as I can be with my kids. They're growing up so fast that I just want to soak them up before the fly the coop. 2. Do to reward yourself when you complete a difficult task? The doing of the task is my reward. Corny I know but I find that highly satisfying. 3. Call a perfect evening with your significant other or family? With S.O.: *sigh* I adore my DH. He drives me COMPLETELY insane sometimes but most of the time I just adore him and get all dreamy eyed remembering all the "perfect evenings" we've shared. They range from everything to playing pool in a smoky bar (college. couldn't do that now. *cough**cough*)& miniature golf to flying to D.C. for the weekend to attend a fancy dinner with friends. With my family. Well I've already said, and meant, everything I do with them is special in my book but a "perfect evening" is one where DH and I get to watch the kids do their "thing." Whether it's attending a piano recital, a band concert, a football game, a fencing match or just getting to catch glimpses of a sleepover, watching them be "them" is absolute perfection to me. Heck, I fall in love with them all over again just watching them read a book. Or sleep. I'm such a sucker for them. lol. 4. Do with books you have already read? I keep them. We all do. We're drowning. HELP!!! LOL. If it's a book I know a friend will enjoy, I will pass it on. But even then I will often just buy them their own copy or a "replacement" copy for myself. 5. Cut out from newspapers? I don't even read paper newspapers anymore. If there's an article I think a friend will find interesting, I will send them the link but I don't keep links myself. 6. Think about camping? Car camping is ick to me. When I "camp" I like it to be far, far, far away from civilization where I can really be alone with nature and ponder the things of life. I wish more people did it. I think if more people took time to get away and reflect and see the beauty of the earth and the beauty in themselves, people would be happier and more peaceful instead of so hurried and harried all the time.

Ugh, I usually eat. See, this is my problem! 3. Call a perfect evening with your significant other or family? I love just having a nice family BBQ or sitting around chatting. Simple and relaxing. 4. Do with books you have already read? I keep them, sigh. I do lend books to friends, but I always expect them back. I'm a hoarder. 5. Cut out from newspapers? Nothing. Well, unless a family member or friend makes the paper, maybe. 6. Think about camping? Never done it, and it's one of the few things I'm really closed-minded about, I must admit ... I don't think I'll be trying it unless I absolutely get my arm twisted!

Call a perfect evening with your significant other or family? Well, if we can just spend it together without the interruption of phone calls, the computer, T.V.,or driving each other loony it's all pretty good. 4. Do with books you have already read? It depends. If it's been a long time since I've read them and I really liked them, I may reread them. Or line the bookcases with them. Or stack them up on the dresser, the nightstand, the floor, the spare bed in the spare bedroom, the endtables, the coffeetable, the kitchen counter, the kitchen table, they're all over the place here! If I know someone who has the same reading tastes as I do I would be happy to share them. 5. Cut out from newspapers? Just coupons and recipes. 6. Think about camping? I love it! Love to roll up in a sleeping bag in a tent, love to cook outdoors on a camp stove, hear the blue jays cawing (?) in the morning, making a fire at night and roasting marshmallows or making s'mores, hiking or exploring around a creek, river, or lake. Especially around the Lake Tahoe area.

Now it would be not much different from an another day accept that we wouldn't be able to get out of the house to the playground or beach. 2. Do to reward yourself when you complete a difficult task? Nothing really. Maybe a nice dinner out. 3. Call a perfect evening with your significant other or family? With my S.O. I guess a nice romantic dinner alone where we could just talk about whatever without being interrupted. With family I enjoy getting together to play games or just have a BBQ. 4. Do with books you have already read? Keep them if they are really good. Otherwise donate them or give them away. 5. Cut out from newspapers? Nope. 6. Think about camping? Ha. I like the answer beamerdog gave "If God wanted us to camp he wouldn't have created motels." I loved it when I was younger, but now? I am too high maintenance for that roughing it crap.

If I were to have that luxury....(and make the rain torrential, please ...I'd love to bake something yummy, read, watch good movies, play games....just be cozy. 2. Do to reward yourself when you complete a difficult task? Yes. 3. Call a perfect evening with your significant other or family? No work, no obligations? Anything I want? Wow, let's shoot for the moon, then. Be at Disneyland. Healthy, happy, and content. 4. Do with books you have already read? Donate them. 5. Cut out from newspapers? Nothing. Don't read the newspapers anymore. My mom is a serial coupon/article cutter and she mails them to us. 6. Think about camping? Well...DH would be in heaven if I just copied and pasted Tinkeroon's answer right here, but alas....it is not to be. He's a very happy camper! The only time I would want to be camping is on the beach, falling asleep to the sound of waves. I could definitely do that.

Someone else cooks and cleans up the mess. 4. Do with books you have already read? The ones I hated, BAM! Straight to the charity pile. The ones I love, I re-read right away. The ones I like, I save them for a rainy day. 5. Cut out from newspapers? What is a newspaper? 6. Think about camping? I'm not against it but I wish husband did it more since he loves it. I will camp too but not like he does with the trail blazers and no running water within 8 miles.

Or maybe I'd skip the music and treat myself to a novel. 2. Do to reward yourself when you complete a difficult task? (See above.) 3. Call a perfect evening with your significant other or family? A leisurely dinner (in or out), lots of talking and laughing, playing games (euchre, cribbage, Pictionary, Yahtzee, whatever). 4. Do with books you have already read? Give them away, generally. I've sold a few on eBay. I'm not one to re-read many books. I think I've kept four or five. It's weird. Like Liberty Belle, I'm a hoarder. I have a very hard time getting rid of most things. But books I can happily hand off. 5. Cut out from newspapers? Recipes. (Sometimes I even try them.) Crossword puzzles. (I do them on the bus on the way to work and back. I'm addicted to that routine.) 6. Think about camping? beamerdog, the crowd around your stove just increased by one! A few years ago, I would have answered that I grew up in the middle of a woods and that I had zero use for traveling to see yet *another* tree or any other natural feature. I honestly thought that my "nature appreciation" gene was completely malfunctioning. But then Lisann and SuzyQ tricked me into having several serial experiences of being truly, deeply awed by natural splendor. So, okay... I guess I *can* appreciate nature, after all. But I'm sure as heck not going to spend the night in some dew-covered sleeping bag in order to see it. When I get up in the morning, the most effort I'm willing to exert to get coffee is flipping a switch or making a call. Sure, I'll go ahead and tromp around in a forest all day. But when I'm done, I want a steamy shower and a dinner at which I sit on a real chair.

Everyone's happy, no fighting, no crabby babies, and maybe just goofing off. 4. Do with books you have already read? LOL! Another thing I haven't done in forever but the local library here has a paperback trade - they have a rack of paperbacks up front and you bring in yours and trade off the rack - it's really cool but sometimes you get someone who brings in like a whole box of romance novels....ick! 5. Cut out from newspapers? COUPONS! 6. Think about camping? I used to like it a lot - I mean I still like it but I can't sleep on the ground anymore, my poor body can't handle that nowadays!
