I've taken the first two weeks of December off from work the last couple of years and hit the parks during the week to get my fill of the Christmastime stuff and the crowds are very moderate. I'd do it again this year except that I'm headed to WDW instead during that time period. Can't say about the weekends, but in general, they're usually busier anyway. Shouldn't be crazy busy like later in the month, though.
