Mickey's of Glendale has a limited quantity of Melody Malmberg's Making of HKDL book at $45 (no CM discounts). It is likely that this is the only place where you will be able to buy it.

TDLFAN it is my understanding that it is not available at the park but I cannot be 100% having not been to HKDLR recently. It was designed as an internal publication only (and CMs working on the park got a different version themselves as a thank you gift).

It's nowhere close to Malmberg's last publicized book of this ilk "The Making of Disney's Animal Kingdom."

And as a point of interest, leemac, M o G's address is not on Flower Street. "We" know you knew that.

That isn't what the Mickey's of Glendale business cards say. :)

My understanding is that the store got about 100 copies of the book to sell. The run was somewhere around 2000 so I'm at a loss as to where the rest are (ie. available inside the park or at the Company D store in Team Disney HK).

You can see what stuff they have for sale by visiting their webpage on the Cast Portal. But it is only accessible from Disney computers, you can't view it by logging into the portal at home. Just search for Imagineering.

Picture wise, well I can't say there's a whole lot of photos or art that I haven't seen online, but I still can't say they skimped. There are lots of little details shots; whole pages of signage, logos etc... No attraction poster images if anyone was wondering (I was). There's a short section at the end about the future but Autopia and the UFO zone is the only thing mentioned.

Did they ever do a book like this about TDS? Now that's something I'd love to see...
