A very cool, very underrated attraction!

And I agree with danyoung in post #2 above, and the feeling of being in the remote wilderness is the same at Disneyland around the backside of the island. And it's one thing I think will be lost forever if they ever do a big development of the BT Ranch / Festival of Fools area right down to the river.

BTW, we also rode Space Mountain. Again, it's the first time I've been on that in years as well.
How did they change the attraction when it was down for rehab a couple of years back?
It seemed a lot darker than it used to be. Are there any other signficant differences? I just don't remember completely what it was like before.

This post inspired me to go on the Mark Twain tonight! We got to the park about 7:30 and rode pirates and then had dinner at the Blue Bayou. It was kind of a "date night". Even after 5 years you still gotta have 'em! Then as we were getting out of dinner they were loading people on the ship (no Fantasmic tonight I guess...) so we took a moonlit ride and then headed home. This time we stood up top in the back by the paddle. Had never done that before. It was awesome!

As for the Mark Twain, the moon was out and shining on Friday night as well, and we stood on the back by the paddle wheel too. Watching NOS disappear around the bend of the river, and surrounded by the trees along the banks, it was pretty amazing. I felt like I was really in the South, on the Mississippi River itself. Could have just ridden it over and over for the rest of the evening! :)Another great attraction. So Disneyland!

You should def. try the new Space Mountain when you get a chance. Utilize Fast Pass so you don't have to wait too long and enjoy your self!

Guess we can thank Disney, too, for destroying the area 3/4 of the year with Fantasmic? (I've replaced the exclamation point with a more-suitable symbol).

Sigh - and it was such a lovely thread. I think there's more than enough room for Fantasmic! as well as the Rivers of America when the show doesn't run. F! is quite simply the greatest outdoor mixed media show on the planet, and I hope they keep it running forever!
