Fantasyland and Frontierland in particular. I feel that the MK has entered the time warp by dating themselves with pop culture icons such as stitch and monsters inc that will have to be replaced at some point. Sure, the princesses and pirates are pop icons, but they are based on much more older, legendary stories and fairytales. Attractions like space mountain (btw the one in Paris pwns the one in Florida) will always be around...especially in Discoveryland for their mythical old world look at the future. The nautalius was very cool to walk through, while soon to be dated attractions like Captain EO and buzz lightyear wont always stand the test of time. Disneyland Paris has a fantasyland that will still outdo the one in Florida once it's finished, maybe just maybe the restaurants in Florida will out do the one in Paris. Their Pirates of the Caribbean is OUTSTANDING and is hands down the best of all the PoTC attractions. So...it seems like no surprise that timeless attractions like HM or PM etc will endure for both parks...but where are the unique attractions...I feel the MK will date itself into a pop culture mall by their 50th anniversary...while DLP though somewhat commercialized....will still be leaps ahead of the MK in terms of physical quality and value for your money.

But DLP is very much a shadow of it's former self, but I would still rather go to DLP than the MK anyday.

Our Space Mountain is fantastic despite being rough and being changed to Mission 2. The first version was amazing. The Nautilus is also great. Unfortunately it's not that popular, people seem to care only about the characters. Walt's and Auberge de Cendrillon are wonderful restaurants, although I'm angry that the princesses invaded Auberge. But as a vegetarian I have to say that WDW did a better job to cater us. The merchandise could also be better with a broader variety, however DLRP still offers better products than WDW did in 2000, especially the wine DLRP sells is pretty good. Does someone know if it is still sold?

I just visited DL over the weekend and will have to say that even in CA, DL looks great and offers a lot of value and show quality. The Magic Kingdom? Well, not only is the park outdated and poorly managed, it has so little new to offer that it is amazing tourists still run there to see the same old crap. Mind you.. I will say this much, maintenance and cleanliness are much better at the MK over DLP.. to some degree. But DLP has an edge because it is a much nicer and beautifully designed park.

I miss your comments on TDR and HKDL.

I also want to go to Hong Kong once the expansion is done.

It may be superbly maintained, but TDL mostly looks dated, like its stuck in the 80s, particularly Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. DLP is hands down the finest Magic Kingdom park there is, at least from a design standpoint, and show quality is apparently on the mend. "Were it not for TDS, I would have little desire to go to TDL." I've never been to TDS, but TDL is mostly clones of features from DL and the MK in Florida, while the design of DLP at its attractions is almost completely original. TDL is nice, but it feels like a MK greatest hits collection circa 1989 to me.

MGM/DHS does it better, minus the big hat in the way. Disneyland Paris has much better floats, and the CM's costumers are much better. I couldn't tell there were street cleaners in the park, they blend in so well. Road Phantom Manor yesterday for my first time, because the attraction had been closed for a refurb. The indepth story is very intriguing, and I like how well themed everything is, especially the bride's tomb with the beating heart sound at the exit queue of the attraction. Their big thunder is so much better, yet it feels like the park needs another thrill ride. With indiana jones closed for a refurb, and no splash or matterhorn, I feel like the park needs something. It's tragic how many big old trees the MK has lost in recent years. The place seems like a big field, where DLP has an exceptionally landscaped magic kingdom. I do like the MK's tomorrowland for some reason more than DLP...could be nostalgia.
