mrk, where'd you copy/paste that one from anyway? I'm SURE you didn't come up with it on your own.

First, it reflects the extreme conservative adherence to truthiness over fact. They have a particular image of Obama and his supporters, and damned if they'll let the facts get in the way of their belief. The reference to reparations, for example, is pure fiction. Yet I have no doubt that someone like the OP or other extreme conservatives secretly believe that reparations and a promotion of blacks over whites is one of Obama's goals. It's a not-so subtle racist accusation - that a black President must be driven by a desire to help "his kind" over others.

Second, it assumes that Obama supporters think like neocons - in unsupportable platitudes. The facts are 100% against Bush; he's been an absolutely disastrous President. Yet his supporters still back him up with vague, meaningless references to "victory," "morals," "character," and "values." Ironically, these same people attack Obama supporters - despite the fact that Obama has repeatedly offered specific ideas and plans for Iraq, the economy, and Afghanistan - as believing in nothing. Those pre-determined to dislike him repeat the same myth that Obama's offered no specifics and that we know nothing about him. Of course, that's only true if you continue to live in a conservative fantasyland, populated by Rush and Hannity.

It becomes clearer and clearer that neocons adhere to truthiness as an essential doctrine. If I believe it, it must be true.

You didn't "come up with it", you found it somewhere.

    I'm wondering where.

    Karl Rove taught them well.

    It worked, right?

I'm hoping this time around might be different, but I'm still not sure.

(Rove, by the way, is a genius. Any evil genius to be sure, but nonetheless a genius and noone can deny that)

OK. I'm not going to argue against your all-knowing omniscience. It's not hard to be creative. I came up with it, but it's not the point of whether I did or didn't.

While I absolutely don't believe this is one of Obama's goals -- I do believe a certain segment will be looking to him to lean heavily in this direction( thinking JJ Sr and Sharpton etc.) - and will put pressure on him to do so.

That is pressure he will have to deal with and I am sure he is well aware of it. While I have been critical of him here in Illinois for not accomplishing much - I have seen nothing to believe he would favor anyone over anyone else in anything.

    just my 2 cents

    Who made the changes then?

    You?

You're saying "you came up with it", and then posted it "with a few changes", by you?

Just trying to understand your confusing explanation here.

You're saying YOU made it up? Then YOU made some changes? Then YOU posted it?

I'm sure it's a reference to the "truth" (in the OP's warped view) that Obama supporters are just hippies and pot heads.

If John McCain manages to win in November, I'll be disappointed, sure. But I'm an American and I'll absolutely wish him the best and give him my support until he shows he's not deserving of it (like Bush did - more than I could possibly imagine). I'll hope that McCain makes the right decisions, re: Iraq, the economy, oil, conservation, etc.

But we can already see the sour grapes from the neocons and other conservatives. As SPP said about another post in another thread, this "prayer" sounds like the frustrated ramblings of someone already resigned to defeat. So much for being an American. It appears more and more that many conservatives are already determined to dog Obama's every step should he win the White House. It's very odd what passes for "patriotism" these days.

Yup, I saw that as well when I googled it. So much for the claims he's made about his political leanings.

Don't you ever proof-read your stuff before submitting? I started off with one version, then modified it to what it is now. I'll probably make another change this evening to correct my never-ending spelling errors.

If you can find another copy of the exact phrase anywhere on the web, I promise to run down Main Street USA naked.
