I guess that day I set all of my stuff down and just put the purse in the closest cabinet, even though I NEVER put my purse there.

I just bought a new Coach purse two weeks ago so now I guess I have two! Even though I feel like an idiot for all of that, I guess it's a happy ending after all!

I once thought my purse had been stolen. Almost a month later the police called and said it had been turned in. I had apparently put it on top of my car and driven off.

I started panicking because I thought that I had lost it.I actually found it yesterday,in a book,in my house. I was so Happy. So yeah that happens to a lot of people.

It is funny how we "lose" things sometimes. WHERE we lose them can be pretty funny too. I remember one time my mother-in-law was going crazy looking for her purse. She finally found it right where she had left it...in the frig!

The milk was on the table by the front door.

Okay, I made the part about the milk up. ;P

The most embarrassing one for me was losing a cell phone. I had taken my car in for new tires at a Sears auto service center. It was back when wireless cellular phones that were not attached to a transmitter were the latest new technology. Like many of us, I depend on my cell phone for work. I left the store while they were changing tires. During that time I realized that I left my phone in the car, when I went back to get it, the phone was not in the place that I kept it in. I asked the technician if he moved it, he said no. I looked on the floor, in the glove compartment, in between the seats, under the seats, but no luck. I was now upset that my phone was missing, I asked who else could have had access to my car, they explained that only workers are allowed in the garage. I spoke with the manager, he was of no help at all. His attitude generated my own negative attitude.

I asked if I could use their land line phone to call my office to check my messages. In doing so, explaining that my mobile phone was missing and to divert my calls, my boss expressed his concern and suggested I call the police since it was Sear's lack of security while the car was in their possession. So I did. A police officer came and took a report, asked questions of the technician, me, and the manager. To be honest, I basically, in so many words accused them of being liars and thieves.

OK flash forward 3 or 4 months later. I'd since bought a new phone. One day after picking my daughter up from school she dropped something in the car, as she reached down to pick it up she excitedly belted out... "Daddy I found your phone!" It was in the passenger door pocket. I don't know how it got there, but obviously I missed it when I originally searched for it.

So, I had to do the right thing, we drove over to the store and I offered my sincere apology for suggesting that they were negligent and/or dishonest. I then called the police department while still in their presence and explained that I found the missing phone and that Sears had nothing to do with it's loss, but it was merely my mistake.

It was good that you went back and made ammends with the Sears people and the Police. That is a tough thing to do, but it always makes you feel better when you correct something that you feel you have done wrong.

I thought about taking the new purse back but I love it so much, it's not gonna happen! It's also a bit bigger than the old one so I can use it as a diaper bag when we run quick errands! I also found a Target gift card when cleaning out that cabinet! :)

Having just explained this story to my husband, he says, "I hope they kept the receipt on that second one."

He's a funny, funny guy. As if.
