Otherwise it was a rather uninspiring group this year. (Luckily, the game was great.)

I saw the Leno/Letterman/Oprah one, but I just didn't think it was all that great. Yah, they were there together, but nothing of any iterest happened. Seemed like much ado about nothing to me.

Personally I thought that Doritos was the winner of the night, with a new line of commercials, all of which were pretty good. Everybody else I was watching it with seemed to enjoy the Bud Lite ones, but I didn't think they were all that great. The Google one got all the girl's attention, but the guys thought it was just too rediculous. Most of the car commercials were pretty awful, with something not related to anything, followed by a random plug for a random car. But overall, I'd still say the general quality was up significantly over recent years.

It was like they were trying to shove in too much to get their money's worth and it just ended being a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing.

The Dodge charger thing was okay.

Bud Lite's been a lot better, the Clydesdale bull didn't work for me, the new e-trade baby is in "diminishing returns" land... and worst of all was the Coke Simpsons ad, considering it was Simpsons.

This year, the CGI stuff was pretty forgettable, felt like it was trying way, way too hard. But it was the simplest ad of all -- Dave, Oprah and Jay, on a sofa with a bowl of chips, that had me exclaiming "How did they DO that?"

I really didn't see many SB commercials. During the game, each time a break came on, I switched it over to Animal Planet. Those puppies are hilarious. I never tire of watching them. They even had hampsters (or some kind of rodent) high above, riding around in a blimp. Too funny!

I also liked the Dockers commercial, since it was a very interesting premise. Unfortunately, I didn't win, but it got a bunch of us to give them our email addresses!

PS-I don't think I've see you around for a while, FaMulan. Have I just not been observant, or is there a welcome back in order?
