Disco is cool, I mean brown and orange were meant together The Wand detracts from Bucky's Geosphere, it's about the sphere not the Wand. Nothing should adorn the sphere Imho.

After they changed it to Epcot, it looked strange at first, as though they were just waiting for another celebration that they could use it for in a couple years. Now we all know that is clearly not the case, and they are keeping it because they actually think it is a tasteful addition. If it weren't for the exposed super structure and simple flats attached to it, I might be more inclined to agree, but it would still be a pretty tough sell. As it stands now, it is just there because it's too much work to take the whole thing down. It seriously takes away from the beauty of the original sphere and the iconic quality that it had at one point. It used to be a world symbol for future advancements, that just happened to be in Epcot. Now, it is a cheesy advertisement for the park that is rarely shown other than in Disney-created material. I think that even the horrible overlays that are suggested on Yesterland would still be better, as they at least pay some homage to the original symmetry and style of the building. They are also much more permanent looking than the wand, as they are actually attached directly to the structure. It looks like the current set up was built somewhere else and just stuck on the back of a truck and driven into place (which isn't too far off from how it really worked), and they threw some stars on the building so it would make a little bit of sense. So to answer your question, yes, it really is that bad.

How about a big "McDonald's" Golden Arch on the side of the Leaning Tower of Pisa? Maybe you'd enjoy the Seattle Space Needle complete with King Kong's boxer briefs?
