    Disney's Golden Oak Ranch lake was utilized by firefighters in the recent fires in California's Pacerita Canyon. While trees that obscure the sets from the road have been destroyed, the western style buildings featured in numerous films and tv series was preserved.

    Knowing that fires had recently burned in the area of Golden Oak Ranch, I'd been wondering the fate of the sets on the ranch, especially the Western town. Good to know it didn't burn. Some info in the article seems to be incorrect. The histories I've read of the ranch state that they Western town was built in the 1970's for the Roots sequel, not in the 1950's.
