And some just got tired of the bickering and fighting that happens often enough on discussion boards. Though ... I think people are less prone to bicker in places like Facebook ... because one's identity is more prevalent than the more anonymous nature of discussion boards like this one. (It's harder to hide behind a FB page that is more transparent. Especially if it's your main account.)

I'm a sucker, and it's easy for me to get sucked into the whirling vortex of argumentativeness that sometimes happens here. I've had to deliberately step away for a month or two a few times, ignore certain posters, and stay as far away from World Events as possible to keep my sanity intact.
