Opening pre-show movie of the original 'Universe of Energy' - that super-cool presentation with the moving, shifting screens The original 'The Land' pavilion -- 'Listen to the Land' 'Kitchen Kabaret' 'Symbiosis' -- the food court and The Land Grill restaurant. Excellent! 'The Living Seas' -- when it first opened, with the pre-show, the movie, the hydrolators, the ride and the walk-through of the main aquarium -- felt futuristic and cool. Horizons -- one of the best edu-trainment dark rides of that era World of Motion -- same Before Pleasure Island there was the Walt Disney World Village -- low-key, resort shopping -- Sir Edwards Haberdashery -- it was an escape from the hustle and bustle. Pleasure Island -- it was kind of fun and exciting when it first opened 1988? 'Mannequin's' had a turn-table dance floor and a live floor show. Adventurer's Club -- saw that in an earlier and agree --so fun! Discovery Island -- that little zoological park Magic Kingdom Diamond Horseshoe Ruvue / Jamboree - yep Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes and Mike Fink Keel Boats -- added wonderful kinetics to the River

While the whole attraction was very well done, that scene stands out as being incredibly unique, technically amazing, and perfectly fitting And while I prefer the original version, I also miss the second incarnation of the Imagination ride. While it had its flaws, it had a clear vision and storyline that was consistently carried throughout the attraction, aided by some really neat effects. When they made the 3rd version, they took my favorite elements of 2.0 and elminiated them or reduced their focus, while emphasizing the weaker elements and adding in a very annoying version of Figment Even though it was long in the tooth, I also miss HISTA. It gave the Imagination pavilion a sense of cohesion that is really missing right now. Plus, there's no good reason that EO should still be shown. I also miss the general vibe that Epcot had during the Millenium Celebration. It was very grown-up and hopeful, something that hasn't been replicated anywhere else. The focus was entirely away from the Disney brand, yet it was something that only Disney could pull off I also miss the backlot tour when there was an actual backlot to see. I don't remember the park when it was a working studio (I was about a year old for that visit), but it definitely felt more alive with a bigger backlot and the walking tour through the indoor sets And while I never got a chance to experience it firsthand, I miss the concept of Pleasure Island. I turned 21 about 6 months after it closed (and visited WDW shortly thereafter), so I'd like to think that I would have enjoyed it, but I never had the chance
