-Homeroom was extended, so it was about an hour. We did...nothing. I understand why it has to be so long, but they should at least have a "welcome back" morning show or SOMETHING!

-1st period was AP US History. Teacher seems super nice and funny. Looking forward to the class, especially since US History is my favorite subject of all time.

-2nd period was Analysis and Functions Honors (A Trigonometry class of sorts). Again, teacher seemed nice, but I am going into this class COMPLETELY unprepared. My teacher last year did not teach us well WHATSOEVER! All other math teachers agree, so its not like we just think that. Here is an example: I received A's both quarters (BY THE SKIN OF MY TEETH!), but the final exam, I received an F (after no preparation and confusion on the subject matter and what will be on the test). After the 30+ point curve (THANK GOODNESS), it rounded to a C, and all three averaged out in the grading system used, gave me an A. So even the practice stuff in class, I was very "Ummm....Help please?!"

-3rd period was Chorus, my third year. I am VP this year, so I did an ice breaker with everyone, which was fun. Tomorrow we kick into high gear and start practicing for our Candlelight Processional audition...so wish us luck!

-4th period was Leadership Skills, which is pretty much Student Government, but without the title. We already have tons of stuff to do...we start doing senior id's tomorrow morning, we have to get the school bookstore up and running, we have club fair on Friday, a pep rally in a week...it's just crazy! But I love being involved, so I am looking forward to the class!

-5th was AP Language, which is an AP English class. I have heard the workload can be a lot at times, but I love assigned reading (don't hear that much, do ya!) and seeing the list of books we read makes me happy! (Our Summer reading was Into Thin Air, which was good, but we also read Fast Food Nation, The Scarlet Letter, Of Mice and Men, and A LOT MORE!)

-6th was Physics...excited for the class...but the teacher is a nut case...

-7th was French 3, which has become one of my favorite subjects, so I am looking forward to that.

Looking forward, I realized I have a lot on my plate! French Honor Society (which I am going to apply to be an officer for...), Thespians (which includes multiple competitions and a spring musical, in conjunction with Chorus, Into The Woods), being President of a new movie club starting up this year, also the multiple responsibilities associated with Chorus and Leadership...it's going to be a lot! I hope I can manage!

Thanks for listening to me ramble on about my first day!

Being an upper classman is so cool though. In my teaching experience Juniors have been among my favorites.

re:7th period, I took5 5 1/2 years of French and I can sing the National Anthem and a few Beatles tunes in french and count to 20. I didn't pay attention obviously :( Seriously pay attention, you'll be glad you did! Our son went to France this year and he randomly knew more French than I did (He took 4 years of Spanish)

    Enjoy your year!

    Food for thought.

That’s great to have a funny teacher for AP History. Good luck in math. I had a worthless math teacher my freshman year and eventually caught up, so it is possible. It’ll probably be a lot of work, but just ask for help. Good luck for Candlelight! I hated reading Scarlet Letter the summer before my junior year for AP English Language, but I enjoyed Of Mice and Men. It’s a lot of reading and writing, but then again it sounds like you enjoy that, so no big deal. Yay Francais. Je pense que le plus important est d’aller vivre en France, pour garder la connaissance. Bonne chance! Sounds like a lot of societies and all, but there’s a large potential for fun every day.
