Why is the fort closed and will it reopen? We recently took our two- and four- year old kids and were talking about the really cool fort only to walk up to closed doors! What's up with that?!

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but it has been closed for almost two years now?!?

It's really sad. They need to fix it up and the rest of the area.

I remember a looooong time ago, there was an article by Al Lutz detailing the fort's problems and its imminent destruction.

Other issues that have assisted the atrophy are 1) residual fallout from the lawsuit over the little girl who lost of finger when it was caught on one of the gun trigger guards, 2) A general feeling that the whole north end of the island, inclusive of the old burning settler's cabin kinda need a rethink and 3) the same penny pinching that the rest of the park suffered from under P.
