Sorry to hear this news..Tony Snow had a lot of spirit and hopefulness in him, and a very life affirming aspect in the face of a horrible illness.

But the loss of Tim Russert effected me to a far greater degree. Still, may they both rest in peace.

Truthfully, that's why I haven't posted here. Mind you, I'm sure Tony Snow was probably a wonderful husband and father. I feel terrible for his family and their loss.

And actually, Bill Maher (I know how much you love him, DAR :) ) said when Tony Snow got the job that he wasn't crazy. He'd come on Maher's show and do his conservative schtick, but then they'd go out after the show and Tony would acknowledge the short-comings of the Republican party and the Bush administration. Prior to being Bush's spokeman, Maher and other liberals really liked Tony Snow.

So I actually think it's a real shame he got involved with the Bush administration. He damaged his reputation by his willingness to stand up there and literally say anything, no matter how untrue or absurd. But when someone passes away, that's not what someone wants to hear about them.

Where was Snow's confession? He defended/supported an administration's mass killings, staggering sums of wasted public monies and blatant attacks on human rights and civil liberties.

There are plenty of nice things to be said about him that steer around his involvement with this administration.

Mr. Snow was a partisan pundit from a partisan network that had plenty of axes to grind against both the other media outlets and the Democrats.

How would Republicans feel had the Supreme Court decided the 2000 election the other way and President Gore tapped Dan Rather to be press secretary? I'm sure no tears will be shed on that day when Mr. Rather passes away.

On the other hand, Tim Russert, was a working journalist who dished it out to both sides without being snide, or rude. Which cannot be said about Mr. Snow as a pundit for Fox or in the White House.
