So, am I the only one that packs t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, sweaters, etc. for each day of the week? Plus, I always pack a pair of jeans for each day of the trip. I do NOT want to be caught doing laundry on my vacation.

Maybe one. =)

At night, you won't catch me in Disneyland without my winter coat, mittens, and hat! You should have seen me when we went to Alaska this summer! I was a human popsicle.

I said you will have to wear 4 shirts per day to use all of them! He re-thought it and we compromised at 12. lol Sad thing is that he WILL wear 3 a day......once when he gets up when he's lounging before shower, then after shower needs a clean one, and if we come back in the afternoon, he'll put on another one if we go to the pool or something. Needless to say, he gets his very own suitcase!!!! I am getting better in my old age though. But I know what you mean.....I like to have choices in case of a weather change. This last trip, I really cut way back and was sorry I did. There were a few pieces of clothing I wish I'd brought with me. My parents on the other hand take the bare minimum. I don't know how they do it! A couple years ago, they went on a 10 day trip to China and took a carry-on!!!!! That was it!!!!! Heck, just for a weekend trip, I take my biggest suitcase! Don't feel guilty about all the clothes. You'd rather be happy with choices than not enough to last your trip. Another website I use to check weather is Accuweather.com. I find that it's a little more accurate than Weather.com. (I'm in NorCal too.....middle of Central Valley)

I'll compare the two to see if they are showing the same weather patterns. When we went to Alaska I was very pleased with myself. We went on a 7 day cruise and I got everything in 1 suitcase....for both day and evening wear! I pack much better when flying, if I know I'm driving, I have no "limits" as is reflected in my packing.

I have no idea how traveling light works now though. We hate checking bags if we can avoid it! In Florida I get really cold (my family are from the Midwest originally but I've lived a lot of places so when I got to Berkeley/ SF I was freezing in the spring). SoCal is cold at night so a couple sweatshirts might be good. LIke I said be comfortable.. The only thing I regret when I go to DLR is NOT bringing a sweatshirt or something because we always stay longer than we intend, and I get my weather advice from the hubby who: a) doesn't get cold hands like I do b) always has us at the park longer than intended. *grin* Because of that we have lots of hoodies, jackets & sweatshirts with DLR & WDW on them. (does he plan it like that???) Another tip (not that it is one) but plain colored tshirts that can mix and match with any layering or whatever. Honestly no one is paying attention to what you are wearing at the park (unless you go to WDW wearing a DCA Animation building tshirt.. we got stopped on our honeymoon several times in a day for that one).

If I do get cold I just buy the latest Disney sweatshirt that catches my eye...there is always one that catches my eye. P)

I am like you in that I get cold at night so I have winter coat, hat, gloves as well as my bathing suit, just in case, and the rain gear since I don't actually believe it will not rain on us regardless of the weather report! I started with the ironing and the whole time I was doing it, I wondered why I iron stuff to go away that I never iron at home like tshirts-lol! That took hours-ugh. Then I started making "outfits" for each day with a sweatshirt for night. Then I checked the weather again and it changed from low 70s to 80s so I threw in some more tanks and lightweight pants for each day and some extra shirts and really it seemed reasonable until...I decided I don't know what to wear for Thanksgiving or for the theater and that drove me over the edge-lol. Now I have all kinds of clothes that I know I won't wear but no one seems to agree on the dress for Thankgiving dinner-grrr. I have no idea what to wear to see the Lion King since it is a matinee and in Hollywood-lol. Any tips there? I have everything from casual to formal for every degree of weather! I should go back and unpack at least 1/2 but I love that we are not flying and no one is going to weigh my suitcase. Now I have a giant suitcase full and am trying to justify it since it is a 10 day trip. DH always says I put the "lug in luggage"-lol. I think I am going a bit insane-lol. I actually packed white pants-what am I thinking!?!?!

We sat on the aisle and the look on his face when the animals came walking through the aisles in the audience was priceless!!!! (I get teary just thinking about it!) Anyway, it was such a good show. I would see it again myself.

We are staying at the Renaissance right at Hollywood and Highland complex for 3 nights after we leave DL. So, what should I wear-lol? Tink is bringing both kids new outfits for the show and for Thanksgiving but poor old me has nothing new-lol. I can not decide what to wear-ugh-help.

I have not been to the Pantages but did go to the Orpheum in SF when we went. Let's see.....what the heck did I wear.....probably black pants, maybe capris, and I think I wore a twinset sweater thing, a short sleeve sweater with the matching long sleeve cardigan. We were in SF and you never know what's going to blow in from the bay there so I'm sure I had a long sleeve of some sort. I never have anything new to wear it seems!!! It seems I always stick with a stand by of nice black pants and some sort of dressed up top. We also saw Peter Pan back in May. Another great show!!!! It was Cathy Rigby's farewell performance she was GREAT!!!! I can't wait til Mary Poppins makes it to the West Coast!!!!

I agree with atinkfan, if it is a matinee a pair of black slacks and nice top/sweater is sufficient. You'll look great! No worries! What is it about us mommies that always makes sure that the kids have something nice and new to wear, yet we don't buy for ourselves? I am the same way! You'll have to let me know what the Renaissance is like! I really hope we like our place. I really wish we could have stayed at the Magic Castle itself, my hubby would have really liked that! Although, the views from HH is supposed to be awesome.
Originally Posted By fidoprincess Thank you both! I did pack nice black pants and a twin set and some dressy shirts among the zillions of other clothes so I should be fine! I know we will love the show. Dh is not crazy about "shows" but the kids and I love them. He actually fell asleep at The Phantom-grrr. I am thinking of taking my 2 kids to see Cats in March too. I know the story is a bit mature in parts but they both have cats and are cat crazy-lol. The hotel gets great reviews and since we had points, it is reasonable, heck not as much as the DLH with our points-lol! It is less than the Magic Castle with the points too. I hope we get a good view there too! Oh, don't forget your spray clorox! They just had another report on tv just to remind me how dirty the remote controls are in hotels-yuk. I will be spraying! Now I am really getting excited! That was a big hurdle getting my own clothes packed and I just finished packing most of the toiletries and the kids assorted "medicine cabinet". I take everything we might need to avoid those late nights driving around anaheim looking for just the right "flavor" of something the kid might need-lol. Dh just saw the pile of coats and blankets and asked me something about "overkill"-lol. We all have these wonderful soft "fake fur" blankets we take in the car and then use at the hotel for extras and everyone wants their own pillows too. (I will be bringing extra bags for the return home-lol and they will be the first to hit the dryer!) I need another whole suitcase just to carry the stuff we use in the car into the hotel. The weather report looks wonderful but everyday I look, it gets warmer, hmmm, wonder if I packed the kids enough shorts-lol, dare I add more?!

On accuweather the temperatures look more mild, down right cold at night in the 40s! brrrrrrr Now shorts for this family, even in the daylight! We'll stick to jeans & tshirts. (and most likely sweaters!)

That is coat weather for me for sure! But those 80 degree days look really nice for us for DL! Now I have to get off this computer and finish up-lol! Tomorrow is the final day and we have deliveries to make and a few last minute errands like oops, I forgot all about going to the bank-lol. I need cash for those OVCs!
