Plus i am sure most of Main Street's stores and also World of Disney will have a large selection of Pirates merchandise.
I mean maybe they should change the name from New Orleans Square to Pirates square. They are going to have a Pirates band, pirates walk around characters, and pirates attacking the Columbia. I am just wondering is this just too much? wHEN splash opened there weren't splash shows.

    BLASPHEMEY !!!!

Anyway, I don't think that the christmas shop will continue to hold pirate merchandise for very long after the Pieces of Eight re-opens. If anything, maybe just until the end of the summer. I haven't heard anything official about what they are planning to do there.

These movies are huge, and then the third one will be out in another year, so it will continue to be popular. Splash Mountain, as wonderful as it is, features little known characters, except for those of us that are fortunate enough to have seen Song of the South.

Walt absolutely loved Pirates, so what's the harm ?

Since the movie came out books, DVDs, and games about pirates (not just the Disney version) have been everywhere - it's really taken hold and since they have a beloved attraction related to a current craze, they should definitely take advantage! And as DO said, they blew the merchandising for the first one - they may as well make up for that ...

Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong. I just have a feeling that I won't be.

Personally though, I do think they have gone over the deep end on some things, the latest being announcing yet another "celebration." I can tell you it's not going to influence me one iota... I won't be rushing to book any vacation when i know there will be another "celebration" right around the corner.
