I give him MAJOR credit for apologizing quickly in what I believe was a very convincing manner. He looked genuinely dejected, embarassed, sorry, sad, etc. Show me a public figure that has been more humble. It was an immediate address of the situation and I credit him for that. I also credit him for saying he needs to get some help to deal with his anger.

Obviously, we hear African-American far more often but there was nothing wrong with how he phrased it. I agree his apology was all over the place but I think that pointed to a man who was really struggling with what he had done. Now, in regards to a racism deep down that he didn't recognize, I think there is a legitimate reason for him to try and get more help with this. I took a diversity class in college and the professor insisted that we ALL have seeds of racism. But, not all of us know about it or act on it. And, like with Richards, some of us find out at inopportune times, usually in times of distress.
