We'll see about that.

Originally Posted By CTXRover <<But what will be involved in the attraction... a ride, shop, video? ANyone know>> From what I can gather from press releases and press gatherings, the ride is essentially the next generation of interactive dark rides. Riders will board specially designed ride vehicles donning 3-d glasses and enter into the realm of the Toy Story characters. The attraction is virtually all screen based with some props to tie together different screen elements. The ride will also include, in addition to the on-screen 3-D effects, 4-D effects such as puffs of air, water splashes, smells, etc., which are intended to put you right into the middle of the action. The basic premise is that the Toy Story characters have set up a series of Midway style fun games for us as guests to play. The ride vehicle will travel past different games hosted by different characters from the Toy Story films. Guests will then use specially designed guns to shoot at the moving targets on the screen. Don't forget this is all in 3-D, so for instance, if the game involves popping a balloon with your gun, expect to feel the air from it being popped (I don't know if this is actually a game in the ride, but it is the general idea.) From layout blueprints leaked out, it appears the ride will have two separate paths after leaving the loading station. Not only will this increase capacity, but each side is rumored to offer a different series of midway-style games, which increases the ride's repeatability. Also unique to this ride system is that it will recognize how well you are doing early on in the ride and tailor the following 'games' to that skill level. So if you get everything in the first part of the ride, expect the games latter on in the ride to get a bit harder. Or if you can't figure out how to work the gun, the games should get easier for that specific rider. There is apparently some unsubstantiated rumors that the DCA version will be better. From what I understand at this point, that is inaccurate. While there will be some minor differences, from what I understand, the overall experience is expected to be virtually identical on both coasts. The queue will include one of the more advanced AA's created by Disney and the next generation of their living character initiative. Mr. Potato Head will be a 6+foot AA character serving as the barker for the games in the queue/pre-show area. He will interact with guests' passing by and also has the ability to physically remove parts off his body. The example given was that he would ask a passing guest if they could lend him an ear and the AA would physically remove his ear and hold it out for the guest. The above and more can be found on the video from Imagineer Tom Fitgerald here http://www.laughingplace.com/L otion-View-365.asp that shows some concept ideas of the midway games that will be seen in the ride.

Originally Posted By CTXRover <<If any of you recall, there was a recent article about this upcoming attraction which mentioned how some ducklings--during a test run of the ride--came away feeling nauseated and dizzy.>> 3-d images without moving vehicles can make some people dizzy. For instance, I know of at least one friend that needs to close her eyes in Philharmagic when Donald is flying through Agrabah and goes 'upside down' or she will feel a little queasy for a brief moment immediately after. The problem with these rumors like this is that I haven't heard specifically why, or whom, or with what a certain person(s) became dizzy, or to what extent they felt this way. While the ride is being built and has essentially gone through initial test and adjust phases, they are still tweaking things. The idea of 3-d with moving vehicles isn't new, as most of us know, so the problem is very unlikely to be a widespread thing as with Mission:Space, which is still grossly overexagerrated even though it does take a few people for quite a spin (no pun intended). Plus, this story came from one of the more unreliable sources on the net, imo (even if he does have some good info from time to time).

MGM's will open much earlier though in 2008 with DCA's to follow later in the year. This is one of the reasons I've heard regarding the speculation that DCA's could be better as it will allow the Imagineers to make final minute tweaks of DCA's before it opens based on the response at MGM. MGM's ride is being installed in a former soundstage, which is essentially the perfect showbuilding seeing that it is a huge relatively support free open structure. Some modifications and expansions of the building are already well underway to accomodate other parts of the attraction. DCA on the other hand is still in the final stages of building the framework for a new showbuilding being built under and behind CA Screamin', making the project that much further behind MGM's at this point.

Stayed off Body Wars for the same reason - even though Star Tours never bothered me - BW always did. Nothing else at WDW has the same effect...and I am hoping this won't either.
