I recently went on the DCL with an additional trip to the WDW parks afterward, and I am sad to say that part of my time was lost watching that horrible, horrible piece of smelliness. I like the movies, and love Toy Story Mania (thank you soft open at Disney Hollywood Studios!! – hopefully the DCA version is the same), but that musical was horrible.

I liked Aladdin because it always had little changes with references to popular culture (none of that in the toy story musical, I’m sad to say), while still keeping a lot of the good parts of the movie. Toy Story’s musical on the other hand just rehashes the story in a truncated ersion, loses the site gags that make the movie fun, and adds a couple songs that are just plain awful. Between the “Infinity and Beyond†song and Sid’s song, I couldn’t wait to get out of there. Of course, a lot of people loved it, so I guess it’s one of those polarizing things – you either love it or hate it with every fiber of your being…"

True? False? Am I 4 months late coming to the party and this has been way discussed? (I did a search and all matches were to the Cruise Line show.)

I don't know. I love the Alladin show and everytime I take people from out of town - The Alladin show is a must see. Plus, by god - it is 40 minutes of air conditioning!

Revive the Tarzan - taking a Broadway play that you have already spent millions on and shrinking it to another 45 minute production will in effect save you thousands in pre-production costs. And, the thought of having a man in a loincloth swinging above the crowds 4 or 5 times a day will have the seats full of Moms, their daughters, their sisters...

So that would mean, it's not coming to DCA

The good news is, I can't see this coming anywhere near filling up half of the DCA theater, EVER. The folly of this idea will be instantly obvious to even the most thickheaded executive.

They would have been better off keeping the original "Hercules" musical.

I'd rather they keep the stale, old Aladdin show ........

at least it will show there's enough VARIETY around ... instead of one lopsided "Toy Story" theme park that would be overkill!

Aladdin has a great run but at this point I think either of these would be a nice improvement for the park.

Aladdin has been showing for 4 years? 5?
Where's most DLR shows have a general life expectancy of 1 to 2 years.

That said, I do think its time to replace Aladdin. But I agree too much TS.

Compare that to BatB at DHS. Talk about long in the tooth.

I don't feel Aladdin is really that stale either. The good thing about Aladdin is that the Genie always seems to have new jokes that really get good laughs. I'd much rather Disney finally start work on the anounced expansion, like the new Paradise Pier, instead of messing with a still popular show.

Part of the enjoyment was hearing the adults laugh and enjoy the humor and hearing and seeing the kids respond what was geared for them (where else can you have Alladin in all his finery wave just to you while at the theatre with the family?).

I fear that from what I have heard - Toy Story Musical will be definitely for the younger set - leaving the adults with little to do during the show except knit Holiday scarves with our Toy Story Musical Holiday knitting kits sold at the front entrance.

The cool thing though will be the knitting needles will be made of different flavored candy and when finished with the scarf in the first act, you can eat them and wear the scarf as a fashion accessory by show's end.

You know, it could be worse - Tower of Terror Musical. Based on the ride and a B Movie. It would have starred some C-List actor like - I don't know - Steve Guttenburg and...Oh, wait....sighhhhhhhh
