    Or a Shuttle Van.

Renting a car is a great option for most folks, you can find them under $20 a day at Hotwire.com for almost any day you choose.

So to me, rent a car or just use a taxi.

Is very easy to drive from the airport to resort and back. I just like having a car for the flexibility. We can go to restaurants that are not walking distance, grocery store, etc.

So remember to add on all the other things you have to pay for on top of that great car rate you can get.

Bear in mind, though... If the Shuttle isn't pretty full when you get on (usually if you arrive very early in the morning), the driver may wait at the platform or circle the airport once or twice waiting for additional passengers to arrive.

Also, depending on the hotel route, you may have stops to drop off other passengers on the way to yours. Not a huge deal to us, but folks should know that the ride may or may not be as direct as a taxi. :)

For us, we only used the car to go from the airport to the hotel, and the hotel had free parking. We were at the BWPPI so we could walk to the park.

When we returned the car, it cost $1.73 to fill the tank back up.

If you just drive around the resort area your gas costs should be trivial. We had a side trip to Universal, and that did use up some gas.

Some hotels do charge to park. But most don't.

Last trip we stayed at a hotel that was too far to walk (The Holiday Inn on Ball & Walnut). At first we used the ART busses, but we got fed up with the 20 minute waits and lack of service around noon. So we decided to just drive to the garage and ride the trams.

Sigh. I wish I were leaving tomorrow (I'm leaving three weeks from tomorrow).

    Thanks again!

What a deal! and so great to just get to GCH and not have to drop off strangers first.

I told them to ask the shuttle driver ; )

I think the mistake we made was flying on a Monday morning and arriving at 9am. Lots of workers off to seminars and meetings etc.

You definitely got 'unlucky' on that one... Your arrival day/time matches almost perfectly with the schedule Mr. Alice and I try to keep when flying in.

I'm thinking the next time, though, we might try the Grey Line bus thing... Sounds pretty darn comfy! :)

I requested a 9 passenger van since we had a large group last time. But they sent over 2 7 passenger vans.
The rest of our group got to DLH 1 hour before us!

I bet that driver couldn't wait to get rid of us.
