Sometimes we did not move at all in the traffic. Or I have heard mention of people taking the train. Was wondering how far the train station is from Sea World do you have to take a cab? I would appreciate any help. Thanks so much.

There is a train stop right by Angels stadium and there is plenty of parking. Its a really pretty ride. I used to do it once a week on Friday afternoon/ evenings with no hassle at all.

I haven't taken the train in several years (it's the Amtrack Surfliner), but it's a really nice trip if it stops near where you're going, and a particularly fun trip for kids!

Before 10am, the traffic is okay. After 10am, it can be very slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Best to monitor traffic conditions on your cell phone.

Took us to San Diego's main terminus - Union Station in downtown. And being the main terminus for the city ... finding a coach line that takes visitors directly to Sea World should be a snap! I can't remember if there's an Old Town San Diego stop (which would be the closest stop to Sea World). But just a few more minutes into the main terminal at downtown .. should provide way more "readily" options to get to Sea World ... than stations a bit more obscure.

If you are heading to San Diego from Anaheim are near the 5 or 91, you could take the 91 to the 15 going south but on a weekday once you get to Escondido you will be hitting commuter traffic south to San Diego and when returning will hit similar traffic going the other way.

Would agree with those that say the train may be the best option for a day trip - would think best place to board would be the Santa Ana station as it is the local hub for rail traffic.

Sea World does have a lot to do these days so really, if you want to see everything, probably best to just stay overnight in San Diego - plenty of places to stay on hotel row which is just a few minutes from Sea World.
