A long time ago..? *points at self*

While the new park is certainly more charming than the original, it's still pretty bleak and the trellises are one of the few things that give it any personality. The real question is why are they deciding to remove them now? They had them built and waiting behind the fences for about a month, but now that the area's been opened to guests for a week they decide that they need to go back and take them out? That's the part that really doesn't make sense.

It's just really strange to me that they opened that area up to the public, and they're already going back to make changes to it because it doesn't work, yet this is a problem that could have easily been figured out using computer renderings that are quite easy to make. Just strange...

Originally Posted By skinnerbox <<The only question I have is why are they being removed, especially since that area is rather barren when it comes to shade.>> You just answered your own question. Once the vines grow over the trellis frames, the WoC viewers standing behind them on the upper terrace level won't be able to see the show. Right now, it's not a problem because the frames are nothing but lanterns and bare metal. But when the plants grow up and over the frames, it will be a huge sightline obstruction.

Originally Posted By Dr Hans Reinhardt "That area was built for the show" Um.... mousemerf you seem to forget that that area has been there since DCA opened. It was a park before and it's a park now. Most of the time DCA is operating WoC won't be operating, therefore some consideration ought to be given to the various functions that the area will serve. One of the biggest complaints around here when DCA opened was that there wasn't enough shade.

Disneygeek is reporting that the pathway between ToT and Bugs land is being removed and parades will start at ToT soon. <a href="http://www.disneygeek.com/updates/disneyland_image.php?update_dir=2010_04_16&page_id=142&num_image=1" target="_blank">http://www.disneygeek.com/upda..._image=1</a>

Will the semi-circle closest to the water (what looks like wooden planks) be used for viewing also? That would help some, but that's going to be one solid mass of humanity in any event.
