To say thank you for all their hard work, we want to fly them out (from Tx) and treat them to a few days at Disneyland. They have not been since the late 80s-early 90s so I know much has changed. We are planning on doing Big Thunder BBQ as they love BBQ food.DH and I have APs so we know our favorites, but also want to make sure we don't miss any hidden gems that may not appeal to us. Any other suggestions would be appreciated? Due to loud sleepers we are doing two rooms at a good neighbor hotel/motel. Thanks in advance everyone.

That's tough without knowing your parents. If they aren't big on rides, we really enjoy the Animation Academy and Aladdin show at DCA. Have them pilot the Mark Twain at DL and sit up front on the monorail.

Do you have anything you remember that is nostalgic to you from the 80s/90s? If that is when you were a kid, maybe take them on a nostalgia tour specific to your memories.

    Have fun!

As they are both "big" kids, we are going to make "I'm going to Disneyland" t-shirts for them, a little coupon book (valid for airfare, hotel etc) and also give them a guidebook to look at to see what do they really want to do. Due to budget we will be mailing the package so we are mailing stuff that will get the point across, but invaluable if someone other than them opens the mail.

After talking about it with DH, so we can give some of the limitations (ie times we can't take off of work etc.), we are going to let them know when we go for a visit near the end of October. I have no doubt that we will have a wonderful time. We have also decided to do a drink in Cathay circle as DH and I have never been yet, so we will be experience something new with them as well. Coupon book includes one 8 X 10 photo from a ride or photo pass photographer of their choosing, a few popcorn/churros coupons, BBQ coupon, Bfast with Minnie coupon. We both love the Breakfast with Minnie as it is a little less crazy than Goofy's, and for us better character interaction. Right now we are debating Blue Bayou as the food isn't great. Our trip is titled how to eat your way through Disneyland as our joke.
