I have one minor design quibble though, and that's that the width and height of the trolley's is misproportioned. Take a look at the Red Cars taken in the 1950s:

    <a href="http://highlandpark.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/2928591970_c37f2ca9a6_o.jpg?w=600&h=393" target="_blank">http://highlandpark.files.word...00&h=393</a>

    Concept art:

    <a href="http://www.insidethemagic.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/trolley-art.jpg" target="_blank">http://www.insidethemagic.net/...-art.jpg</a>

The concept art appears to be the cars that were used from the 1920s-30s, which to me would be a better fit thematically. I get that it's a modern theme park and that some design changes have to be made, including NDA regulations, but I'm a little bit disappointed with the final product. Again, it's a minor thing and it's all a vast improvement over the shopping mall blandness that was once Sunshine Plaza.

Good question. It looks like trash to me, but maybe there was a parade or something just before the photo was taken.

Over on Miceage there are quite a few folks getting riled up over the web of trolley wires going up along the route. I actually like them and tend to get kind of geeky about details like that.

With an upper limit on where BVS extends, it will feel much more cozy, despite the fact that there is almost nothing actually up there; the overall effect will be very similar to the more charming feel that Main Street has at Christmas, when the garlands stretched across the street tie everything together visually.

On the other hand, I only noticed the high tension wires in DCA once across a dozen visits. I don't know that I'll mind these, either.

I think you might be missing the point.

Now, if there was only a way to have Tinkerbell fly without that dang cable.

I don't wish that someone would go into Haunted Mansion with a dustrag or restore the temple to its glory days.

The Jolly Trolley worked great without wires, since Toontown was a timeless place.

However, if you're going to set BVS in the 20's, you need the wires. It's part of the whole look that LA/Hollywood would have had then. And because it's confined to those areas (and even provides a bit of a "roof" to them as others have said), it doesn't clutter up everything and in fact creates another transition point as you move from those areas to the "open skies" of the winery or Condor Flats, etc.

On balance, I think it was the right decision to include them, though I understand the other point of view.
