"If you've visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at Universal Orlando, you likely passed through The Lost Continent area of the Islands of Adventure. It's the area right before the Wizarding World if you're entering via the Hogwarts Express entrance.

You probably flew right through it because you were too excited to get to The Wizarding World. Upon passing it again as you left The Wizarding World (filled with Butterbeer), you probably looked around The Lost Continent and thought 'meh'.

You're not the only one who gave it a meh. And it looks like Universal agrees too. MuggleNet reader Kelsey tells us she was on a tour of the park the other day when a Universal guide told her that within the next two or three years The Wizarding World would expand and replace The Lost Continent.

In my opinion, The Lost Continent is begging to be replaced. Potter could do so much better in that area. And this is in line with a number of strong rumors we've heard that say Universal has an agreement with Warner Brothers insisting on new additions to The Wizarding World in two to three years.

So, this means we could see an addition to the park opening possibly as early as Summer 2012. If it were to open then, Universal certainly has some plans in the works right now. What would YOU like to see added to The Wizarding World?"

    <a href="http://www.mugglenet.com/app/news/show/3739" target="_blank">http://www.mugglenet.com/app/n...how/3739</a>

And then a poster over at Micechat chimed in saying that he heard that a major new HP attraction is in the works.

Of course this is all just wild rumor. So take it for what it is worth. Of course I will update you guys if I hear more.

It would be cool if the expansion was finished that quickly. Makes you wonder why it takes Disney so long.

Personally, I would hope that they keep the Lost Conintent area and expand Potter into undeveloped or backstage areas. They could make a great attraction based on Greek mythology in the Lost Continent, replacing the lame Sinbad show and the semi-impressive, yet dissapointing Poseidon's Fury attraction.

I have to wonder why Uni didn't just re-theme all of Lost Continent to WWoHP. I mean, does any even go to see Sinbad anymore? If they do, do they ever go back and see it again? ;)

I'm no longer impressed with the fare. I'd rather eat at Tchoup Chop at Royal Pacific.

If Universal signed the same deal that I saw then they don't have the right to expand Potterland - they have to pitch it to both WB and Rowling for their approval. If that is the case then there is no chance of them opening an attraction in '12.

Either way that is more capital expenditure out of Uni's coffers. They must be concerned about either maintaining their initial attendance success or capacity - there is no way they would get the money to expand if everything was hunky dory at IoA.

I disagree. The fare seemed very average by theme park standards the last time I ate there. Certainly not up to the level of Epcot's upper tier of restaurants. I always laugh when I see them proclaiming to be the best theme park restaurant as voted by "Theme Park Insider" as if it was actually even close to a reputable source.

Average theme park food? Far from it.

And notice I said when considering value. Epcot's meals are a good 2-3 times the price of a meal from Mythos, for not nearly that jump in quality.
