The violence was presented creatively and tastefully, but it still was a shock. I love Ugly Betty as a comic drama without the bloody crime scenes.

Betty was much 'uglier' than the American Betty-who I find rather cute, not ugly at all. In fact, I just saw some recent photos of her. She's lost a lot of weight and looks, well, 'great'. But, I guess no one would have watched, if they had cast a 'really' ugly Betty. Hopefully, next season, they won't start making her look sexy or anything; that would defeat the whole purpose of the show.
