NO Dark Forest, NO Queens Castle, NO Queens Dungeon, NO Witch at Cauldorn. Sorry, all the scary stuff is gone.

It was the last feature until Lilo and Stitch to use only watercolor backgrounds, which tend to be very pastel-ey. I'm not certain about the WDW version, but the DL version of the ride uses much more bold and bright colors than what's found in the film. I think the colors work very well in a real-world setting, but it's strange that they claim that they're taken from the film, since it's a completely different palette.

Asthetically it will all make a big difference, but I agree with HMButler, this still does not feel as grand as the New Fantasyland of Disneyland in the early 80's. Though it could be due to the fact that I was my son's age when that one reopened. I must confess though, I am disappointed with the direction of travel with regards to these aweful meet and greets. But when you have middle age women doing trip reports where every photo is a meet and greet, and most parents on other bulletin boards are fawning over planning the M&G's (the same ones that when they return home had skipped Pirates of the Caribbean or Carousel of Progress or Spaceship Earth), it shows how the mentality has really changed about Disney parks. I think it is somewhat amusing though, as people fawn over the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but moan about Disney. Both are about shoving IPR. But as they say, it's not what you do, but the way that you do it. Universal have developed a whole immersive environment, Disney on the other hand seem to be segmenting the parks like markets are segmented by their chieftans.

It won't look new and modern? I do wonder what the view through the castle will be without the carousel visible behind it cause I heard that was silently disappearing... Originally Posted By FerretAfros I would be shocked if they removed the carousel. It's a great way to kill a few minutes while waiting for a FP, and something nice to look at as you walk by. If it's removed, it will leave a very large open space with nothing in it, even with the new wall. Plus, didn't they just give it a top-of-the-line makeover to become Prince Philip Regal Carousel? There's no way they would to that for a temporary solution! : )

Granted, I think that the tents need work, and greenery to look their best, but, with both areas merging into each other, it would make for a very differentiated Fantasyland.
