I unfortunatley just had to go to a funeral in Vacaville last week for a co-worker that was also a young father, 31 with 2 young kids, that passed away after a motorcycle accident. So after last week's sad times, this is great to read some good news!!!

Originally Posted By momof4boys Thank you for the link and the update. It does sound like what damaged my son's heart- a viral infection attacked his heart muscle ( viral myocarditis). If that is what he has, the good news is if they survive the acute illness ( and it sounds like he will) then 1/3 of the time they eventually make a complete recovery with no residual heart damage and another 1/3 of the time even if they continue to have heart damage, with medication their heart function can become close to normal. These are the stats for children. The prognosis for adults is even better. I will continue to pray for a complete recovery for him.
