They said they opened the door quickly and the passengers were on the wings and getting to the taxi's and fairies.
    Speculation is that it was a bird strike - They think it was a flock of birds.

    It is still above water - the aviation people they are talking to is saying they pilot did a really good job of landing it on the water - and because it was a short flight they believe it wasn't full on fuel - so there is air in the tanks helping it float longer. They said the pilot did a perfect landing on the water - and obviously didn't damage the body of the plane.

    Robin Roberts saw it happen and said it was unreal.

Amazing job of the flight crew getting the plane down as safely as it was. Hopefully no one was still on board when it slipped under. Actually, right now the tail is still above water, but the fuselage is under.

    I saw a news report the other day saying something to the effect that no lives have been lost by american air carriers for the past two years, which is the longest record to date. Glad to hear that everyone is safe in this accident as well.

    really tho - kudo's to the pilot and crew- as well as the amazing rescue teams in NY- honestly they seem to be able to handle anything
