I got my husband an assortment of candy and cards, and then I splurged and had four pizzas (two heart-shaped) "real" deep dish Chicago pizzas shipped from Lou Malnati's Taste of Chicago restaurant. (Saw them on the Food Network once and tried them last year for his birthday. It was instant love. LOL)

Valentine's Day is overrated and commercialized *but* it's the 9th anniversary of our very first date, so it's kind of special to us for that reason.

    What's everyone else doing?

My female friend and I are wearing matching polka-dotted dresses with red sashes, and we're trying to convince the guy to do the same but he's not falling for it. And happy date-anniversary!

I think we're going to do something this weekend instead.

This year they have an 8 month old so I suggested taking all the kids (6+8yo) out to a dress up dinner. Then we saw Disney on Ice opening on Vday and said, "That's it!!!!" So we are all getting dressed up for dinner and then of to the Arena to see the new show. It is based on Disneyland rides so I think it will be great.

We went to Disneyland for several hours and then had dinenr at El Torito. Mmmmm! It was a very enjoyable day spent with the person I love.

Today, I am staying home from the office! I gave myself the day off. I plan to do some things around the house that I've been putting off, hopefully some scrapbooking and then making a cake and dinner for DH and I.

I'll call my mom (we visited yesterday) and talk to all of the kids at various times (they all got their gifts when we saw them last week.)

I'm looking forward to an uneventful day :) I'm surprisingly not missing all the valentines, room parties and games, cupcakes and punch that I spent years of my life doing. I'll enjoy watching the neighbor kids come home with their bags of valentines and their mom's rushing down the street at 2pm to get the cupcakes there in time though.
Sometimes memories are sweeter than participation :)

I decided that I like Vday regardless of having an SO!

We will take a convertible ride to our favorite beach city and have lunch in the restaurant at the end of the pier.
