This video is very long and very interesting (to me), but specifically Warren Buffet comments about what the Disney brand "means" and why it makes them so successful.

The Disney comments start around 35:30, for anyone who wants to skip ahead (though I recommend the whole thing highly).

And it makes me wonder how aware DISNEY is of this stuff, and why sometimes it might make them rest on their laurels.

The way he says it is a lot cooler though, I recommend watching it

(The film itself was released with the proper company credits, and did so-so business.)

The problem is, the immediate past management of the Walt Disney Comapny was aware of this very thing-- that audiences automatically associated the Disney name with quality entertainment. So we ended up with a lot of inferior offerings-- some not even produced by Disney artists-- under the Disney banner. All for a buck.

I have made it a rule of mine to never buy direct-t-video titles because they are always made with an extremely low budget.

Really, what I look for is if my kid is entertained by the things. If he likes them well enough, it's ok. He does have some taste. Some films he will enjoy, some he will not.

Personally, I thought lion king 2 was one of the most horrible things ever, but lion king 3 was cute. :)
