I don't think that kids should be on Pleasure Island. Raglan Road is okay (IMHO), but I wouldn't take kids further in. I've posted in a non-moderated Disney newsgroup for nearly 10 years, and I wouldn't want kids there either. It can get quite interesting sometimes (well, a lot). Many people have posted wishing for an all-adult hotel at Disney. That isn't really my thing, but I think it'd be popular. A lot of adults like having "me" time without kids everywhere. Even at Walt Disney World.

    I get cranky by around 7. :)

I commend you on your choice of charities. I am very familar with both of them.

    >> but restricting them altogether at WDW I think is just wrong... this is the family vacation center, not a night at the Ritz -- there are plenty of places in most cities to have an adult night out..... <<

I don't see that as an issue vbdad55. All the folks that come to WDW do not have children with them. Would you deny them the simple pleasure of dining at just one very expensive age restricted establishment compared to all of the other choices available?

And V&A is even higher dining than Bern's so it makes sense to limit the age to a point, at least to me it does.

Excellent point Denise. I'm still ticked about that though. Not the restriction, just the way they handled it with you.

I'm not ticked, it's almost amusing now. I wish I hadn't left the MK early for it, but I was staying at the CSR at the time (early last month) - so it wasn't like I went way out of my way.

I think I can safely say that Rix isn't on any current plans of mine. I like to get dressed up occasionally - but not for a loud nightclub. :)

Im 15, and i normally do the same thing with my parents going to the grocery store (in fact, im home with my 2 sisters right now while parents are at the store). But im not sure they would want to leave me with the girls alone in WDW. I think theyd rather have an older person there just in case a bad guy does come or whatever. It sounds ridiculous now that im typing it.

That was great. People were paying upwards of $150 a person for a meal there. I was very surprised."

And a lot of other people were probably paying a LOT more.

There are hundreds of places in WDW and around Orlando for families to eat french fries and chicken McNuggets. Why is it assumed kids must be included in EVERY bloody thing?

Maybe because it's WDW, not Monte Carlo ?

If it keeps others out totally - yes. Do you agree with the fact women can't play golf at Augusta ? Doesn't matter what they shoot, doesn't matter how much money they have -- because some people view them as a problem there.

Again I have no issue with the 2nd seating say being adults only because of the time of the dinner - but to exclude people for one reason and one reason only - sorry, I can't buy into that on many levels.

and as far as denying adults the opportunity to eat there, what about adults with kids, who don't travel with a babysitter or believe it stuffing the kids into a center to watch them ? So they can't dine there ?

Any time you start excluding people, for a reason that just doesn't hold water to me, I'm sorry but my radar goes up.

So maybe we should exclude anyone without a Platinum Card with a limit of at least $50K, heck why not $100K limit -- think how 'nice' that would be to some people.

It treads on dangerous ground IMHO - everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

I would have been fine if there was never a PI, I liked the Marketplace as it was. Though I do think the Adventurers Club is terrific. Disney is very popular with all types of people - singles, couples, families, Disney no longer is just about "famies together". They go after various market segments with each attraction, with each hotel, etc. Victoria and Alberts is more of an upscale, adult setting (I have visited, just not dined).

The nice thing about message boards, we can all have our opinion. :)

and until someone complains enough to the mgmt types about this - all they see are the profits - I do have a problem with that also.
I also would have been fine w/o a PI -
