It would be like trying to watch a movie while standing beside the screen - it just doesn't work. I'm also curious about the vantage offered from the top deck of the new GCH wing - it too doesn't appear to line up too well with the 'front' of the show. And I wonder how many people can be accomodated on this top deck and what the restrictions will be - only DVC members? Guests of GCH? Other disney hotels? General public? So many questions we just don't know the answers to - yet.

This is a good observation, however I think that if those tables are made available at a premium the selling point might be more about the closeness to the show rather than the angle.

I also think that it's just plain too far away to have a good view. From the closest corner of the building to the closest part of the water, it's exactly 300 ft. Of course, none of the show actually takes place in the corner of the lagoon, but rather out in the middle of it. Google Earth doesn't have the platform on it, so I'm guesstimating, but it looks like it's about 650' from the corner of the building to the area where the main screen is (as a refrence, that's the same distance betwen the Mark Twain/Columbia dock and the Astro Orbitor, or between the tree atop Splash Mountain and the entrance to Big Thunder). Factor in that the majority of the building is behind that, further blocking views, and it just doesn't seem like a very good spot to see the show.

I'll never never never understand stuff like that.
