The Italians have quite an affinity for the mouse...and for Walt. When I mention to folks that I worked for WDW they get very excited and want to know all about it. I'm missing the family...and my friends on LP...and I look forward to coming back on a more regular basis. Ciao...for now.

A few days ago I had an interesting conversation with a man who got one of the first licensing deals with Disney...and I mean Walt himself...to sell merchandise with the characters on it. He was quite a guy. We are seeing parts of northern Italy that no American tourists ever see. I spoke to a mayor of a small town in the moutains and asked her how many toursits from America she had met. She told me that besides a few businessmen who visited the steel factory there.....none! So, while we won't see Rome we are seeing some unbeliveable things. We did get to spend a day in Vencie which was spectacular. I miss the family and the States...but this really has been something (and I have two weeks to go)!

You're on the trip of a lifetime and I'm so glad you took time from your busy schedule to visit with us here. I remember Italy with fondness. Are you going to the isle of Capri? I never made it there, but I really recommend Sorrento; it's so beautiful. I hope you are having an adventurous time!
