I don't drink any tequila drinks (unless I've already had too many and don't know any better). She was given a nice size drink in a florencent cup (Guessing to identify the alcohol content in a drink to prevent underage drinking)and leave the area with it. I went into the cove bar and asked for a daquiri to go and wasn't able to do the same and was told I would have to stay in the bar with it. Why would it be okay to have margaritas, beer, or wine and walk around, but not other drinks? This made no sense to me!!

The Pacific Wharf locations and all the counter service restaurants have a license that allows folks to carry the alcohol throughout the park EXCEPT for the two separate licensed areas.

Those are the Wine County Tratorria area, where you are not allowed to bring in the Neon cups, and not allowed to take the drinks outside the restaurant area.

And Ariel's Grotto/Cove Bar, another area where you can bring in drinks for other locations, and must consume the drinks on the premises.

It is basically due to California Law and the need to have a separate license for the locations that offer full service meals.

The other DCA locations with plastic cups don't offer full service dining. There are laws about that sort of thing in this state.

Have you brought these questions regarding legal alcohol service to your nearest office of the California Alcoholic Beverage Control? That is the agency you should address these comments and concerns to, not the Disney company. <a href="http://www.abc.ca.gov/permits/permits.html" target="_blank">http://www.abc.ca.gov/permits/

If you still find California liquor laws too restrictive, or that they still "make no sense", your elected state official would be the next person to speak with so that amendments to the current liquor laws and regulations could be considered in Sacramento.

Liquor laws in most states are arcane. It's sometimes funny to see how much they vary, and how what one state is fanatical about, another won't care of at all. But whatever a particular state thinks is important, you can be sure that it will be enforced to the nines. And the attitude always seems to be that society itself will somehow collapse if these rules aren't enforced, even though all of the neighboring states don't have that rule and get along just fine.

I remember being in Arizona at a place that had both an on-premise and off-premise beer license. They had counter service food, but also acted as a convenience store. The sold beer by the can. If you opened a can of beer to drink there along with your food, you were not allowed to leave with it. But, if you purchased a can unopened, you could leave with it, and open it immediately upon leaving, since it was a beach area where alcohol was allowed. What possible public benefit was gained from this, I'll never know. But it did give someone with a badge a rule that they could enforce.

But just the flashing neon sign "Drive-Thru Liquor Lounge" was too good to pass up.

Normally something that I would never do, but a day at disneyland isn't "normal".

Last Sunday, we were in line for Screamin', and there were four people ahead of us who all had wine glasses and were drinking wine. We thought that was pretty weird. At first, we thought they were plastic as well, but we looked closer, and they were definitely glass.

It is a very good likeness - my friend got a "glass" of wine and when they handed it to her she asked for a plastic cup so she could leave the area and it WAS plastic - she put it in her purse later and forgot it was there and when we came back from dinner and went through security they even checked it. IF you tapping on them is the only way to notice the difference...
