And how were they planning to have the walkway get past the water channel between the Grand Floridian and MK? The monorail beam has to go up extra high there to go over that channel. (To be able to clear the light show barges as they come out for their nightly show)

However, I recall way back when when the project was truly intended to be ENTIRELY around the lagoon. Not "almost." Somewhere, somebody had to be at least thinking about a bridge for a walkway that would connect the Grand Floridian and the MK.

There's already a walkway there. But there would have to be a new solution for crossing the channel between MK and GF. I've never seen any sketches.
Originally Posted By RobinsonCrusoeEsq The Walk Around the World was never intended to entirely circle the lagoon. The sales pitch at the time made it sound like it though. The Walk starts at the TTC, and heads west to Polynesian, where it stops. It picks up again by Luau Cove, and makes its way to the GF, where it stops again. Over by the Magic Kingdom entrance, it stretches from around where the Water Ski Show stands used to be (near GF/Poly launch dock) to the traffic light on the Contemporary/MK walkway. That is about it. There is/was nothing in the way of a walkway from the Contemporary to the TTC. There are service paths, and it is actually possible to walk from the CR to the TTC, but it is more than a half-mile, and you wouldn't walk it. There were no plans to make the Walk Around the World traverse this area.

But I sure wish I still had a copy of the brochures from back then. I sure remember it being pitched as a complete circle. But then I don't ever remember seeing any sort of map.
