The building and it's foundation, I'm convinced is rooted so hard into the swampland that TDO is too lazy to get rid of it. The CoP will never be a Horizons demolition, but it will likely never be an entirely different attraction. i.e. flying saucers 2.0 The attraction still gets mentions by Disney now and then. Kind of like a few weeks ago when Disney Parks hired a new staff writer to talk about the 64 world's fair thanks to a fanboi reminding them what April 22 means to Disney besides earth day and the animal kingdom. The CoP's upkeep has always amazed me. The sign's issues were becoming a such a problem to the point where it was sent away. The exterior was repainted a few years ago, but the theaters were never finished. There are still old theaters and new theaters. Oh...you may be able to notice some wall paneling on the theater walls is coming a part. The 1975 plastic paneling has had enough spins. Does a refurbed CoP sign...or even new sign mean much? No....it just goes on with the love/hate relationship of the ride. There are no more dishes in the dishwasher in the 1940s scene because they were jamming against the counter because the dishwasher has gone off it's track. The film playing on the TV in the 1940s scene has been restored, yet father's jaw since august 2010 is still broken. Cast Members are now informing people that the ride rotates every four minutes. Because of guests, the ride looks like it's breaking down, and has turned into a forgotten, unadvertised, attraction at Disney. While many guests enjoy the ride, many have no idea what it is, fall asleep, or feel awkward the entire time on it.

At one point it looked like a mechanical part was going to poke right through poor dad's neck in the first scene. That has been repaired for quite a while and overall the sets look cleaner. Even Rover seems to have received a much-needed bath and brushing in all the scenes. Although in most cases I don't like treating attractions as 'museum pieces', with the Carousel I think it is entirely appropriate. There is probably no attraction more closely associated with Walt than the Carousel. When they updated the final scene I did not like it... it seems totally out of character with the rest of the show.

The carousel theater concept is fine. The CoP show concept is not, IMO.
